Dear Diary: My Blood Pressure Goes Now Into Dangerous Levels
Yesterday prior into being hooked up for my dialysis my blood pressure was read by one of the dialysis nurses and it reads 180/90 or something. It was very high considering that I was only sitting on the wheelchair.
It is not good because things will really get ugly for me for risking myself of heart attack or worse getting a stroke. I remember now my neighbor having a stroke, now she cannot move anymore and a vegetable having taken cared of by her children.
I really do not want to suffer the same fate because obviously if I get a stroke it would be better if I would die afterwards but if I would live being a vegetable dialysis patient, what in a world would that be? That is hell without the flames I am certain.
I hope that God would not allow it to happen because it is way too much, this life is already a torture and I could not take anything else anymore. But I know already all the possibilities what will happen to me if I don't fight back and try to turn my fate into an acceptable level for me. I just need prayers for those to happen or another miracle perhaps just to make my live liveable, like near normal is just what I wanted.
Anyway I could not take any hypertension medication because at dialysis it has an effect of crashing my BP so I just refrain from taking it plus it is another toxin for my body since I am already a dialysis patient with no means of taking off toxins but only through dialysis.
The cause of my high BP anyway is volume in my system particularly extra water because after being hooked-up my BP begins to go down as extra water is taken out. But if I were to take hypertension medication the BP-lowering effects of dialysis itself plus the medicine will combine to put my blood pressure down. That is the case that I am concerned with which is the reason I am not on hypertension medicines for a long time now.

My husband also has very, very high blood pressure which is almost the same as yours and the doctors also told him that he can get a stroke at any time etc. which is very, very scary.

Yikes man, that is high indeed. I hope you can somehow get it back down and in control. I don't like being on medicine but I guess I'm lucky that I can be on 3 different blood pressure meds. When I had my aneurysm incident and almost died a couple months ago, my bp was 228/something. I now have to check it a couple times each day and it usually is between 100 and 130/something. When it drops below 100 on occasion, I get dizzy easily. I miss not having to care about what was going on with my body, now I am always worried about it. I know you have a much more intense situation, I feel for you and I hope for the best for you.
Yes I am worried and I saw patients before that had gone kaput because they have a similar BP.
I'm sorry to hear this, my friend. There must be a reason for the high blood pressure. Let us know if and when you find out what it was that was causing it. You gotta stop whatever it is that you are doing to cause it to be that high!
The cause is the extra fluids in my body so when I drink it exacerbates it. This issue is not present in the past where I can easily request for my weight to be reduced at dialysis.
