Dear Diary: I Say No To 50/50 Author-Curators Post Rewards Split
It is a grey day because it is the rainy season and I would expect rain to go down later in the day but right now I just want to sleep the day off and probably use the bathroom and then sleep again or blog.
Nothing much I can do as I am trapped in my own body. It does suck being in this situation where you cannot even go out anymore and explore the world.
Well at least I am earning something through my blogs and it does give me a form of consolation for my efforts in writing and sharing my world.
Even in writing I am already feeling the burn but I have to go on because in the future the post rewards will get slashed 50/50 for the author and the curators not to mention the beneficiaries cut.
I do not know if it is a good idea because curation is also a limited thing to do. You cannot just curate and curate. What will happen I think is that people will just stick with their old ways of curating and enjoy additional income out of it while of course content creators will suffer.
But it remains to be seen what will happen actually because they have not done it before but I can actually see it right now that my post rewards will just lashed by 1/3 so it is a painful cut while my curation rewards will not be that significant even if it will triple.

Hate to say it, but I think this is going to be the type of policy that changes even though most people do not want it.
It is a big problem right now when a few people can choose to implement a hardfork that the majority of people probably do not want. These top dogs think they are smarter than the rest of us, and that entitles them to make decisions they think is for our own good. Their stupid theories on what will fix things will not work better, because some of these people are inept with basic social skills.
They would realize very quickly how unpopular their opinions are if they had used a social media account (such as steemit) and nobody knew who they were, and they were not allowed to flaunt their wealth or invest any SP they did not earn from posts. They would quickly realize how hard it is to earn a few bucks on the 75% author reward. Even harder for a shallow person with poor aocial skills.
Sorry, I just felt like ranting. I want people to understand why it is so silly to support the 50/50 policy being proposed mostly by the elites. Never support elitist policies.
Yes @creativetruth steem is like our society, what is happening is that the steem elites have a huge say even though their decisions is not popular and will just benefit them more than in the lower level steem users.
It will be harder for low SP holders now to build their account even though the devs says otherwise.

The one thing you can control is how you use your own SP and votes. If more people did that it could be a force for change. I got the majority of mine through buying on an exchange. Now that I feel my stake is significant enough, I take seriously who I interact with, upvote, follow, witness vote, etc., in that I want to support the long-term health of the ecosystem over milking it for short-term profit.
Hopefully it will encourage more whales to jump in and actually use their steem power more. It could work out well for dolphins, minnows though, not as sure.
we just accept how the policy is taken by the people who make the policy. hope it doesn't make everyone feel disappointed. @cryptopie.

Just wait and see. If it's a complete disaster, they can be pressured to change it back. For now we gather evidence that will help take us into the ideal direction. You are doing the right thing now by holding them accountable using your own influence. Stay the course!
