Day 45 Full Time Steemit (I need to give some updates.)
If you have been following my activity on the platform, you will note that I have not been doing my daily updates. The reason I have not is because of late I have learned that indeed it is quality over quantity. After joining the alliance, I am simply bowled over at what I have learned in what seems like a very short space of time. I have learned, how to better format my posts and while they are still not perfect, in my opinon they are a lot better than what they were just a month ago. The latest being after a long chat with @shadowspub, that I could try to use Scrivener to work on my posts because it means I can work on more than one at a time.
Lets kick it off with what is happening shall we.
Shoutout Saturdays.

After last Saturdays shoutout, or SOS as I am now calling it, a few of us got on board and kicked this whole thing off. Then on the Sunday I was listening the VOTU podcast and my Gina bot was going a bit crazy. There were quite a few upvotes and comments coming through and not just a nice post either. These were long in depth comments from people who thought the initiative was a great idea and they wanted to get on board. I found out it was all thanks to @danielsaori, who had made a competition for people to leave a thoughtful comment on his post, and also in turn to do the same on mine. I noticed that many people explained they were new to the platform and they recognised why it was such a great initiative. They got it, find new people, engage with them and shout out about them easy.
At the same time though one post I looked at I realised that SOS was not going according to plan. The comments on the post were from people who were saying comments like awww thanks we’re such a great family. SOS is not just about recognition but more importantly the recognition of others. My philosophy I take from the honerable Charles Wigoder (Google him) who quoted the following.
I do not measure my success on how successful I am, but on how many are successful because of me.
Now isn’t that just one of the best quotes ever, if my initiative helps people on the platform become more successful and they learn how to correctly use steemit, then I feel I have done my job.

So I started a contest.

I have tried contests before but have had very little responses. But I thought as SOS had so much attraction I would give it another try. So I created a contest for one person to win 100 SP delegation for a week. I cheekily promoted it on the back of Daniel's post. But he was all in as well and matched it so we have two potential winners now with 100 SP each up for grabs. The contest has been welcomed with open arms, and many people have said they are going to enter. So all being well it looks like Saturday might turn out to be a busy day, which was the other thing I wanted as weekends are rather quiet on the platform. I might be selfish when I say this but true success to me on this platform needs participation every day no matter how big or small, if you want to win at this you have to put the time in. Here is the link if you would like to participate and to get more information.

Discord is getting busy
I find my self more and more on discord, chatting to members about different things. With that my responsibility has grown. VOTU has promoted me to gunner, looking after people wanting to promote in the group and encouraging them to network. The Steem Experience promoted me to a moderator, although I think its because they like my taste in music. LGBT upgraded me to moderator last night, I think its because I am engaging with the members and using the LGBT tag to help promote the group. Then there is my own server paranormal steem where I have built it up and put s few bots in there, and I try to engage with the members. We are a quiet group right now but it will become more chatty as we grow. It would seem that Discord is a full time job in its self. But with that comes a lot of help in return of members.

Yesterday I was chatting saying that I am putting all my sbd in to SP at the moment to get to 500 as I am not far off about 60 SP or so, because while I want to spread the joy, it would be better to spread it wider if I could. So yesterday @ancapbarbie the little sweetie what she is only went out and fought my case and I got a delegation of 69 SP in recognition of the hard work I have been doing on discord, and for all the many hats I am wearing.

Looks like steem is on the up again.

I felt there was a real lull in the community in the past week or so, whilst steem continued to nosedive so much that we started getting steem rewards alongside SBD and SP. I did not really worry too much about it dropping. As for the bigger part it is better for the community for investment, if people see it for it’s potential then they will, by knowing that it will climb back up and it seems to be the case. Maybe I should start an initiative where we throw a massive party when steem starts to drop again, we could call it the second wave.

So there you have it readers, it’s been a busy week. I will be in PYPT later today talking about SOS, so I might see you in there. I do hope you will join in with the initiative and really help me to blow this thing out of the water literally.
Thanks for reading.
xoxo

My Achievements on Steemit

You are right, you have definitely been busy! I can't wait to participate in this weekend's SOS. I have been thinking about who I want to recognize in my post. There are so many but I will definitely cull the list before the day comes.
My discord is super busy as well...I just started my own, STEEMmamas, for all the moms on the platform. Plus, I am a member of like 8 more, which I think may be too many at this point. I can't seem to form the close relationships I would like because I'm spreading myself too thin. I'm working more on getting a better handle on the communities.
I see we are in a lot of the same communities (thealliance, asapers, steemengine), but I haven't really started reading your posts until this week. I am not sure why that is, as I love the info you share and your formatting is great too!
Close relationships take time to be honest you will find a handful you form with. It will come @keciah I promise you are in good hands. I only learned how to format properly very recently which by the way the post I commented on yours looked good also. Well done also on setting up your own server you are on the right track like me it just takes time make yourself known barge in there and make your self known.
Good there are so many because you don't have to shout out about them all at once, those that see the post and engage with it should become even more active so you should have a steady source of people each week to drop into the posts. Thank you for the fab comment.
Good to hear that Steem is going up again. I still have too little for a payout, but one day... :D
How do you link to your achievements on Steemit with image and all?

I am so happy Steem is going up again. It'll help out the community, and encourage more growth. It's good to see that you are finally at 500SP. I too am getting close to it, and am super hyped!

Thanks @tattoodjay and thank you for all your support also.
😎👍😎
It's good to read these posts about what you have been up to, I'm glad that you are still learning and making this platform work for you.
To quote Jiddu Krishnamurti:
'There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning. '
Your hard work will be your success my friend x
Thanks yes it has been hard work but I have learned so much I am excited for the future.
