Shave Like A REAL Man And Save LOADS of Money!steemCreated with Sketch.

I was born in 1975, and so that makes me forty-one years old. I've always had a really thick beard, and so I always thought that I needed to have fancy razors with as many blades as possible.

I've never used a single blade razor, disposable or otherwise. That is, until recently. You see, I've always thought that the more blades a razor had, the better shave I would get. I bet that you probably thought the same thing. Am I right? Well, I'm about to explain to you why that's totally FALSE. Even better, I made an original video so I can demonstrate it to you.

First, I want to tell you how I came to this realization.

When I was a young child, maybe seven or eight years old, I remember watching my father shave one evening when he was getting ready to take my mother out for dinner. I remember the razor that he used. He used to open the razor somehow and it would come apart into three pieces. One part I distinctly remember was the razor blade. He would take it out of the razor, rinse it off, and replace it. Then, he would put the razor back together.

Even to this very day, my father shaves with a single blade razor, only now he uses disposables. A few months back, I was shopping at Wal-Mart and happened to need shaving cream. While looking for my brand in the shaving supplies aisle, I came across a razor like the one I remember my dad using. As it turns out, it's called a "safety razor."

I was immediately intrigued. First, because it brought back good memories of my childhood, and second, the price of the razor and enough blades to last me six months was actually CHEAPER than a package of four refill blades for my current razor (enough for about two to three weeks).

I decided to give it a shot. It even came with instructions that explained how to use it to get the absolute best shave. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. I mean, how could this razor with a SINGLE blade give me a better shave than the razor I had been using which had FIVE blades? It's couldn't. Could it?

Well, after my first shave I was amazed. I was immediately HOOKED! Not only did I get the best shave of my life, I'd just figured out how to save a bundle of money! It was now going to cost me about $40 per year for replacement blades as opposed to the $400 a year I was spending on blades for fancy five blade razor!

In the following video, I'll demonstrate my new safety razor and show you just how close of a shave you can get!

My dad had the same razor. I'm just wondering if I can find one in the sores here.

If you live in the US, the razor I used in the video is sold im Wal-Mart, Target, and many other stores. It is called the Micro Touch 1. Now, if you are outside of the US, I know these can be found on Amazon and eBay. Also, there are hundreds of different safety razors that are just as good, if not better. As I said, you can find some really great safety razors for less than $10 online.

This actually turns into somewhat of a hobby once you start doing it. I often find myself collecting safety razors and also trying all of the different creams and lathers.

If you have any other questions I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask

Thanks! Followed you also!

Hmmmm. I might have to give this a try. I've been using Harry's Razor five-blade razor. They're relatively inexpensive (four pack of replacement blades is 7.99$ as compared to two blades for 17.99$ for my previous Mach 5), and they do pretty well. I don't shave against the grain, so I never get a shave quite like I want. But I'll give this a try and see what happens. How long do blades usually last before they dull on a safety razor?

I would highly recommend giving this a shot. Also, you can get really nice safety razors on places like Amazon and eBay cheap. The safety razor I bought is a MicroTouch 1 and it was $20 for the razor and 12 blades. Depending on how thick your beard is and the frequency in which you shave, the blades last different times for each person. However, no matter who you are, they last much longer than the refill blades for the modern 3,4 and 5 blade razors, and they are MUCH cheaper. I get a package of 5 refill blades for around $3 and each blade lasts me around 2 weeks. The refills for the razor I was using cost me $20 for 4 and each one lasted for around 3-4 shaves. It was costing me $35-40 a month in refills as opposed to $5-$6 that it costs me now.

On top of saving money, the shave is absolutely INCREDIBLE. If you lather up and make 2 passes like I do in the video, you will get an unbelievable shave. Understand, though, that it takes a little getting used to and you need to be more careful using a safety razor as it's easier to get cut if you are not paying attention.

I know you will love it if you give it a shot. And like I said, you can find great safety razors on Amazon for around $5.

What is more amazing is how you made a 30 minute film on shaving... thanks... this was good.

Well thanks. That really makes me feel good!

My observation having experienced what is like to just let it be is that this way we are more protected in the overall picture, we are healthier. But it is after all a personal choice and one that I think all men should experiment with to be able to call it an informed decision. Let all your hair grow for a year and you won't be the same, even if you end up deciding to shave regularly. Do it while you have hair.

Most men don't want facial hair. It's a personal choice.

Most?
Beardless youth.
Shaving is against the natural ordure of things.

You're entitled to your opinion. However, I don't agree. I enjoy a hot shave in the morning, and so do millions of other men.

Shave like a REAL man
(note: I done it, when I was not allowed to wear a beard.)

lol bush lover!
