The Wall
Street photography isn't something that comes easy to me. I don't "see" the shot as easily (pesky buildings, cars, and people are in the way!) as I do with landscapes and nature, and I prefer to be out in the boonies where the people aren't. This photo of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC wasn't intended as street photography, I took it more as a personal memento of my trip to DC (I've been to the Memorial several times before but you can't be that close to it and not stop and look at it, if only from a distance). It wasn't until I started looking for a photo to use in @photocircle's street photography contest (I want my name in that hall of fame, dammit!) that I even noticed the reflections on the left side of the memorial. To me they almost seem like ghosts looking out of the wall at the visitors, which seems rather fitting for a war memorial, particularly that war.
