Some of the best photos from Malaysia SEA Games!

in #teammalaysia7 years ago (edited)

The 29th South East Asian Games of SEA GAMES is currently ongoing in my city Kuala Lumpur. This will be the sixth time Malaysia host the games and its first time since 2001. We, Malaysian were in sporting spirits as host country and as supporters to our Malaysian athletes. This week, every time I came home, I will straightaway open my TV channel to watch the recent match played by our heroes. Some of the sports that I love to watch are Football, Swimming, Netball, Diving, and Volleyball. As a host nation, we respect our visitors as we know they are close neighbors to us and sport is the medium to unite us all together.

I often dream to be an athlete, to be honest. The sport of my choice would be Badminton and Futsal (5 vs. 5 indoor football). Growing in Malaysia, we have huge numbers of Badminton courts and we watch a lot of Badminton matches and we produced great numbers of great athletes in this field. Badminton unites us as a country. Everyone here in Malaysia knows how to plays them because it has blended in our culture. We got sad, we got emotional but that does not stop us from playing Badminton. In the case of Futsal, well I just love watching football and Futsal is the mini version ^_^ plus it is indoor (now I don’t like to be tanned LOL).

Best pictures of SEA GAMES 2017 according to me

The credit for these pictures goes to some of the newspapers companies in Malaysia. I will credit to the source that is certain

Athletes are full of determinations and this act can be captured by the lenses. I always got amused and excited if I’ve seen this determination face or intensely- cool pictures. I thought to share it here. I also hope to get your views on which pictures you like while I explain the meaning of the pictures.

  • His Majesty First Gold Medal For Malaysia

Source: Astro Awani

This is a historic moment for Malaysia as one of our Sultan, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin won the first gold medal for Malaysia in the 80km equestrian endurance race. He is the first Sultan to have participated in Sea Games history. He recorded an average speed of 16.257 km per hour in the race.

  • Volunteer Life- Sprinting To Give Water

Source: The Star

This picture has made social media talking. We adore the spirit of volunteerism of this lady doing her job keeping the contestant hydrated. It is not easy to give water to a running participant on a horse particularly the contestant is the fastest in the race ( Malaysian Sultan Mizan). Bravo sister!

  • Portrait of Determination

Source: Astro Awani

Malaysian Welson Sim, who won 400m freestyle gold and setting a new SEA Games record in the process. This picture just showed the world how a still picture looks like although the shot was taken at a high-speed pace

  • Dramatic Lights Up The Torch : Opening Night

Source: Astro Awani

The grand opening ceremony was touted as the best ever in SEA GAMES history as spectacles of lights, colors, and fireworks wowed the 90,000 audiences. On one gimmick, Malaysian Nur Dhabitah, became the first Malaysian woman athlete to light up the cauldron which was the highlight of the opening ceremony. She said she feels like a ‘SuperWoman’.

  • Wushu-ing Her Way

Source: Astro Awani

Another determination face by Malaysia Wushu champion Diana Bong Siong Lin. She won the gold medal in 'Nanquan' category. Look at that leap. If I were her, that is my profile picture! ^_^

  • Anime-like Fencing - Double Light Exposure Technique

Source: Astro Awani

Just wow!. Look at the cinematic experience of this picture. Singaporean Amita Marie Nicolette Berthier (left) fighting her opponent from Philippines, Samantha Kyle Catantan in Fencing Final (Foil category). I feel like in HD Anime movie in the middle of a fight. There is so much to admire of this shot. Bravo to the photographer.

Which is your favorite picture?

Jen is loving all of it..

Awesome post - informative - well put together - great images - and definitely won one of my 4-5 daily upvotes! Thanks so much for posting this! Be on the lookout for big things ahead with this post as I have an idea to help us minnows get seen and heard :)

No problem - Thanks for shedding some light on what SeaGames is - I tweeted this post and #'d it with SeaGame and a ton of diff hashes popped up that people are using - KEEP ON STEEMIN

Tq for resteeming me . ^_^

Anytime -I actually just nominated this post for the "Upvotable 23" it's currently here

https://steemit.com/dtube/@jerrybanfield/lcq7842t - look for my recommendation of your post and if you have anybody to help Upvote it hopefully Jerry will see it and read it and it'll be chosen :) Check it out now!

Hey love. It is nice and kind of you to nominate me to @jerrybanfield . He rocks and you too. He has helped me twice by upvoting. I know you think my post is undervalue , I appreciate that. I hope by making a lot of good post (am learning hard) , it will actually get there. Thanks to lovely people like you who's willing to help.

@cikxaijen - Anytime - I try my best to help as many people as possible with my very limited amount of resources.. I really did enjoy the post and it got me to search more about the Sea Games and it's impact on Malaysia - It's posts like yours, the ones that make users look for even more content on a topic, are what encompasses a great post in my opinion - as well as creating active engagement about it through commenting - however is minnow are at such an extreme disadvantage that unless a whale just happens to swim by any drop an Upvote on us - the posts and hard work go unseen.

I think that every single user on STEEMIT should be reposting their content and the content they Upvote on Twitter, Facebook or any other social media that apply -

Hopefully some developer will add more media sharing buttons to posts besides the (3) they have now - only FB, Twitter, and LinkedIn??

I guess since each post is on the blockchain - some urls can't be promoted on other sites - I tried post a URL on StumbleUpon - which helps my website greatly - but it won't allow STEEMIT URLs or even shortened URL's - odd.. Sorry I went off on a tangent - It just bothers me that STEEMIT could be and do so much more yet so many developers are using their skills for personal gain with all of the bots, gambling, and non promotional type apps that STEEMIT needs -

If we only both found STEEMIT in mid-2016 - 10's of thousands would be viewing our posts :)

I'll end with this - COME ON JERRY!! If he's upvoted you once he must have seen your potential - so hopefully he'll see this one and it'll get Upvoted by 1,000's that read his blog :) That would make my day!

Ut ohhhhh - Did it get seen by the infamous @jerrybanfield ?? I saw a curie Upvote - SCORE!! Loving it!!

I like the pic of Sultan Mizan on the horse!

Did you attend the opening ceremony at the Stadium?

I did not attend the opening but I will be at the closing! Yay!! And you?

Wow that's great! 😃

I would love to attend the closing but it's far. So i will be watching from tv 😂

Portrait of perseverance. I don't really follow the news of the Games, just reading/watching the snippet here and there. Hard to concentrate on stuff with 2 boisterous kids around ;)

Malaysia bolehhhhhh!!!! Tibe2 hehe

The last photo is really cool.. yup.. just like you said... it does have the anime-like- fighting scene...

The picture is why i make this post . It is awesome

Pretty easy reading and nice photos that u had chosen. I was there too...

Tq for reading.! 😎
