🤔Just a Concerned Stemian: How Steemit Works for Me😉

I'm not earning!

A common problem of any person who just got into steemit. Yes, I myself struggled a lot and still struggling. I have joined several steemit groups from other social media and I have noticed that there are a lot of people asking for upvotes. Not that I dont get upvotes from my very supportive friends but why does a lot of steamians do this and ditch out from steemit? I was thinking that the possible reasons could be.

  • Lack of Interaction in steemit
  • Lack of Engagement in Interactive posts like contests
  • Thinking too much about the income
  • Lack of Engagement with people outside steemit
  • Lack of Quality content

I don't assume these are all correct but these things were the ones I faced before and currently facing still.
Please do comment some reasons if you have any. thank you!

Lack of Interaction in Steemit

Mainly Steemit is designed as a social media for everyone to use and could earn at the same time. The thing about social media is you have to be sociable or needs to interact. Without interaction then you as an individual will not be noticed. You can't expect everything to be instant. It is a process and begging for upvotes as well as followers wont help.

What did i do?

Commenting on other posts and replying those who comment to my posts. Then and there you could gain trust from other stemians. How hard could it be anyway?

Lack of Engagement on Interactive posts like contests

I am a multi-media arts student and yes I deal with photos and filming. Knowing that photography is quite a challenge here in steemit I still never stop posting photos. I have noticed that there are people helping photographers like @photofeed but still it requires a good post. Aside from that, you can join contests like I did.

I didn't win. Nor gained SBD for posting it but I gained viewers. Not much but still a gain is a gain. Theres no harm in trying though 😁
Perseverance is the key.

Thinking too much about the Income

Money, Dollars, Pesos, Crypto, name it all. I am fascinated by the thought of posting articles and getting something in return. But how are we able to gather that certain Income through our articles? I have friends who helped me a lot when it comes to my post being upvoted. However, these posts are not just posts. I travelled far places just to have articles.

I didn't have much income on that post but still a gain is a gain. I couldn't ask for more. I don't wanna go to anyone's inbox asking for upvotes and follow me. It would be better if I will be rewarded by the hard work I did.

Lack of Engagement with people outside Steemit

What do I mean by this? Meet up with people. Steemit is so vast and you could meet people that is near your place. You could work together on how to be an effective Blogger.

One of the best example is @kennik and @artguildph with @deveerei. @kennik was planning to do a charity work through art workshops with the kids. Indeed a noble work. @steemph saw the good intentions of the charity @kennik was planning so the team decided to help him gather funds for the charity through Steemit! Then on many people pledged their help for @kennik just like @jacinta.sevilla, @dandalion with @steemph.davao and many more!

Look how much they gathered! These people don't know each other in the first place but they engaged into something they could work together then I believe that they are effecrive Steemian 👌
You could connect to them if you have a very kind heart and help them gather more funds for charity.

Lack of Quality content

When can we say that our article is a quality content? Here is one good example of Quality content.

An article by @legendarryll

It got tremendous upvotes from the whales of steemit. One of those whales is @curie.
And by way 😂 I have never been upvoted by @curie. If you are wondering about @curie then i'll have you know that @curie helps those who just started posting on steemit with Quality content. It only means that if you are doing great posts then income will follow. Quality content never come easy. It has to be original and unique.

Those are my thoughts about a struggling Steemian. Once again I would like to invite everyone to comment down the common things that you think are factors why we are not effective bloggers. I'd be happy to talk to you guys 😊

By the way. Follow these people and groups. They are great people who never stop supporting those who work hard

Hello, @christinegegare, I am new to Steemit as well and I love this post because some of these questions roll around in my head as well. I do love this platform and have learned so much already. I am not going to give up. Nothing has ever come easy to me and I don't expect it to. At the end of the day, if I keep working hard, it will pay off. Good luck and nice to meet you.

hardwork do really pays off. thank you, I'm glad I've been a big help for you here in Steemit. nice meeting you as well. Best of luck 😉👍

Really good post and the points you tackled are very significant. Makes me think and look back to all of the posts I have done, hehehe. Steemit is a really wonderful platform to share stories, make friends, and earn money. You just have to do your part and be consistent and interactive :D

yes indeed 👍thank you so much and im relieved we all do have this kind of problem and we now know how to deal with it.

Very good sharing @christinegegare. Thanks u

thank you so much 😉 i hope it helped you somehow 😂

In my opinion, anything you do online or in life with regards to being a creator or communicator should come from a place of passion. Would you create or connect if there was no expectation of reciprocity or monetary gain? I have answered that question for myself long ago. That said, it is certainly icing on the cake to have social media engagement and also be compensated for your contributions. But do try and focus on your passions and sharing that with others. Your passion and drive should pave the road for your potential and success. Have a great weekend and have fun out there! XO

absolutely you got a great point there 😉 these things could be very subjective depending on what drives a person to do things. thanks and have a great one as well 😁

Thank you for shedding light into this. I'm just a week old here and sometimes the ins and outs of Steemit confuse me a bit. This has been eye-opening for me, thank you.

The first few days have been frustrating; I've been plagued with thoughts of earning money ASAP (which is a very wrong priority! Eep). I used to post and post, oblivious to the rules of curating quality content. I guess that's why, I ended up worn out and frustrated at the end of the day, haha! I defeated my own purpose.

However, reading countless of generous posts on how to generate income in Steemit has been really helpful. I've learned that creating a quality content comes first, allied with engaging in other people's posts. Thank you for stressing these core essentials.

That said, immense thanks for being selfless! Stay awesome!

Thank you and Im glad this post helped you the way you look at thingh here in steemit. Thanks again and stay awesome as well
