Travel is not only about enjoying the scenery, but also about enriching the experience and broadening your horizons. On the third day of the Rizhao holiday, we chose a different way to check in - visit the Rizhao City Museum. As the saying goes, "read 10,000 books, travel 10,000 miles", and when you go to an unfamiliar place, in addition to visiting scenic spots and tasting food, it is equally important to understand the local history and culture. Museums are undoubtedly one of the best windows into a city. With this in mind, we stepped through the doors of the Rizhao City Museum.

The scale of the Rizhao City Museum is truly surprising. The three-story building area is not small, and the layout of the exhibition hall is also reasonable. On the first floor is a temporary exhibition hall where we were exhibiting the work of a local calligrapher. Although I am not proficient in calligraphy, I was impressed by the smooth brushstrokes and unique fonts. Particularly interesting is the inclusion of some of the artist's own fonts. This makes me wonder: are rules an enabler or a shackle to artistic creation? Perhaps for beginners, rules are a ladder of rapid improvement; For masters, only by breaking the routine can they create a higher artistic realm.

With thoughts on the relationship between art and rules, we came to the main exhibition area on the second and third floors, which is the focus of this trip. Although Rizhao is only a small city, there is no ambiguity in showcasing the local history and culture. The museum has specially opened a "historical celebrity" exhibition hall, and the first thing that catches your eye is the famous statue of Jiang Ziya. I have to say that this arrangement is a bit of a "fellow pride". You must know that the history of the Shang and Zhou dynasties is very long, and many deeds have evolved into myths and legends. The exact place of birth of Jiang Ziya is still unknown. However, he does have a deep relationship with Shandong - after the success of King Wu's war, Jiang Ziya was named Qi Hou, and the fief of Qi was in Shandong, so he became the ancestor of Qi.

In the Hall of Fame, another thing that impressed me was a statue of a heroic woman standing with a sword. At first glance, I thought it was Mulan, but when I looked closely, I realized that it was not. Interestingly, this heroine doesn't even have her full name, she is only called "Lu Mu". The reason why she was able to occupy a place here is because during Wang Mang's usurpation of the throne in the late Western Han Dynasty, she was the first person to launch an uprising against Wang Mang's rule. This story makes me sigh, in the long river of history, how many unsung heroes like Lu Mu fought for justice, but they were not remembered by future generations?

After visiting the Rizhao City Museum, I had a deeper understanding of this small city. It not only has beautiful seaside scenery, but also has a deep historical and cultural heritage. From the ancient Jiang Ziya to the unsung heroes of modern times, every story tells the vicissitudes and glory of this land. The museum, on the other hand, is like an open history book, giving us a glimpse into the city's past and feeling its cultural pulse.

This trip to the museum also made me rethink the meaning of travel. Traveling is not just about seeing the scenery and taking photos, but more importantly, about taking a sense of the culture and history of a place. Only in this way can our travels truly enrich our hearts and expand our horizons. Next time you go to an unfamiliar city, you might as well visit the local museum, I believe you will have unexpected gains.
