Naughty Tagger's List 3/18/18 - 3/24/2018 -- Tag spammers identified.

in #steemit6 years ago

The list below identifies the authors who have "Introduced" themselves or products at least 20 times since the start of 2018 AND have posted again in this tag last week. Only 9 authors remain on the list.

This is information only. The information was obtained programmatically via SteemSQL;

It is possible that some of these authors have legitimate reasons for using the introduceyourself tag repeatedly, it is up to the community to decide that. Note: @markup was removed from this list.

This article (post) is also being tagged with the introduceyourself category. I believe it does belong under this tag, but let me know if you prefer not to have it posted there. I will certainly listen to the community on this subject.

The list below includes articles only (no comments) and only includes authors who have new posts last week in the introduceyourself tag.

Tag spam can really make it hard to find articles you are truly interested in when authors intentionally post their content using tags that really do not apply to their article's content.

If you find this tag spam to be unacceptable behavior, then let the author know. A quick comment with your honest view point may be sufficient to make a real change. Letting them know they are on "The Naughty Taggers List" may be plenty useful.

I will be updating this list on a weekly basis.

It is possible the authors below have already made changes to their tags and habits and their newer posts may be more properly categorized. But the count is accurate one way or the other as to the number of articles in the "Introduceyourself" category as of the time the list was generated.

To help fight tag spam in the Introduceyourself tag, I have launched a tool called @IntroBot.

@introbot is an automated bot hosted and managed by @bycoleman to welcome new users, provide helpful links and information and most importantly to help insure they become a success and asset to the platform.

@introbot works in conjunction with other tools to help fight tag spamming and abuses, particularly associated with the introduceyourself tag. Click here to view the latest comments made by introbot.

The success of introbot is dramatic.

This week there are only 9 total authors left on the list. This is compared to several hundred total tag abusers before introbot went to work!

If you would like to support Introbot, simply upvote any of the warnings or comments it has made or create your own reply directly to author and let them know how you feel.

Some of the authors on this list are now being flagged by introbot, but continue to ignore these notifications. Introbot uses increasingly higher SP as the occurrences continue. If you feel so inclined as to flag some these post as well, the authors may find it very prudent to change their tag selection in future posts.

Feedback is requested, good or bad. I'm working towards a great platform, but your concept of great might be different than mine, so I am very interested in your concept. Also, let me know if you would like to see more of these types of list.

The irony.

Good work @bycoleman

Are you a witness?

No, not even considering it. The list is way too long to even try at this point.

Thanks for the support!

Hey there Craig Coleman, I'm Oatmeal Joey Arnold, and thanks for not putting me on this Naughty or Nice list hehe and thanks for letting people know what is up with all of this hehe.

Since you only post comments in the introduceyourself tag, they are not targeted by @introbot.

Blessings!

For the first time, I started a new meme challenge and I was in the science tag today which was interesting. You can actually find me in many different tags as I have over 20,000 comments/posts on Steemit. So, I get around. But I do like meeting new people.

Thanks for the reply.

You may have misunderstood. My statement you only "post comments in the introduceyourself tag" was referring to you only post comments (or replies) as apposed to new author "posts" under the introduceyourself tag. I was not implying that this was the only area you have interests.

Intobot has not concerned itself with those who are creating comments (or replies) under the introduceyouself tag, just new (blog) posts in this tag. Later it may ; however, target bots that "welcome" or upvote tag abusers.

Hope this makes sense. Sorry for the confusion.

Your bot found me and led me to this post which ironically is posted under the "introduceyourself" tag. I've written many posts that I've put a lot of work into that have gotten zero recognition or monetization. But when I post under the tag, which is neither spam nor against the rules, then bots upvote and give money. If you want to make the Steemit community better then put effort into your posts instead of using bots and reward original work.
Also, stop being a hypocrite and posting under "introduceyourself".

Good post amazing

Hello! @bycoleman. I haven't been seeing your Bible verse posts. What's going on?

Good morning dear Sister.

Thank you for reaching out to me.

I'm in prayer at the moment on this and am waiting on the Father.

Have a very blessed day.

May He attend your prayers. Amen
