Winter is in her moment of glory. It is at its peak, at least in this corner of the world called Romania. Eastern Europe. When I was a kid this was the favorite season. I wanted to last forever.
Now, in old age, I started not to love so much the winter. Probably because of aging and cold bones. Now, in the middle of winter I dream to summer.
When I think about the summer and its warmth ... I think of the sea. When I think of the sea ... I'm thinking about beach, sand and water.
When I think of beach, sand and water ... I'm thinking of Thassos, the island of Greece. A few months ago I was there!
Being an island in Greece, we can see a church in the most unusual places. Here is a small, small, small one!
Thassos Island is a mountainous island full of pine forests and olive groves. Around the island there is an endless beach, interrupted from time to time by small bays and high cliffs. Perfect places to watch the sea.
On the beach there are more stones than sand, but in the water we are limping on a fine sand, careful not to hit the fishes.

Looking a bit closer, the beaches are even more beautiful. Populated with beautiful bodies, sunbathing.
Who knows my passion for music knows I can not finish this post without a song. Greek necessarily now.

These are such beautiful pictures of the beach and of Thassos! The color is so soothing looking and even the pebbles on the sand are so pretty. People flock to an environment like this.

Who wouldn't love it there? It would be hard to turn that down. I think as I get older and do less skiing and skating, I find solace in taking vacations to warmer places to get a piece of the sun! I love your wonderful post. You could post all day long about Thassos and I would still want more!

I always return with joy, nostalgia and warmth to the pictures of Thassos. Many could say: he saw a beach in his life and now kills us with it. Well,
is and isn't so, I have been deeply attached to this part of Thassos island because it's not just a seaside resort, it really isn't. That's why I like and cannot break my way to go elsewhere. I like it as a way of life at the seashore and that I can integrate with the locals. I was at 4-5 stars, I liked it once but then it seemed a bit artificial. I cannot find myself in that luxury and comfort.
In Greece it's different, I feel like home. Maybe because Greeks know how to be hospitable and natural.
All the more reason to love it! I don't go to resorts, but, usually will opt for an Airbnb or rent a house for a month (or however long) This way, you mix with the locals and it feels so much different.

I have always been a summer person i hate the winters even more so now and i can relate to them aging and cold bones that's why i moved to Thailand were i have been living for the past 8 years and have not had a winter for the past 8 years and feel so much better and younger and am here to stay...hehe :)

Just as an information those tiny churches you see around Greece means that someone dyed on the spot, usually by car accident. I don't want to make you sad or anything I just thought it is good to now.
