Feathered Friday - "Time to Fly"

Time to head south, away from the smoke

It has been pretty smokey here where I live due to the Swan lake fire, a couple fires up north, and a couple of fires down south. The Swan lake fire is by far the largest right now. There is only one road out of the area, and that has been closed several times for lots of hours due to thick smoke and extremely low visibility.

One way out is like these geese at a fiery sunset from Tuesday the 20th:

It is close to fall, some of the water fowl are already beginning their migration back south. The weather, has been plenty warm this summer, down right hot on a few occasion, but the Swan Lake fire has been burning since very early July.
Current info:
Size: 144,132 Acres
Contained: 20%

Clicking off the fire info box will allow you to zoom the map in and out to see the various fires. Really not a whole lot of fire activity for the year, the Swan Lake one seems to be the largest and worst. We are getting some nice partial sunsets, partial because the smoke is so thick that we don't really get to see it drop behind the mountains, due to the smoke, and maybe some clouds.

Hoping the fire season is winding down for us up here, i did hear that Northern California is having another good sized fire, but this year does seem to be a bit less fiery than three years ago.

I appreciate the vote, how ever if it is going to come with advertisements and "pointing out" you voted for me I would rather you put me on an ignore list. I did not like it when themadhatter or what ever his backward name was, was doing it and I still do not like it when people think I am to dumb to know when someone voted for my post. (I do use @steemchiller's Steemworld.org after all).

Would you like it if I pasted a big photocircle's ad and comment look at us we voted for you on your page, or photo-this or that group and here is our discord chat room? I don't think so. I know some people do not mind all the advertisement from inside and outside of steem block chain, however I do know of several people that left steemit front end for other front ends without advertisement. I gave up TV and Cable TV and Satellite TV, because of advertising, I am tired of it, don't need it, don't want it.

I am considering even unsubscribing to the Steem UA people because of the every three day ad, like the one below even though it contains stats and information I find useful, I still do not like people telling me I they voted for my content.

Saying you "Manually curated" my post tells me nothing, no comment about liking the shot, no advice from a professional what I could have done better, or what I got right, Your reply was 100% totally useless for me. Why would I Follow and vote for stuff that others like, I am perfectly capable of finding and voting on content I find enjoyable. I even look at the new post feed every now and then, to find new people or things or ideas or pictures, or lots of things to vote on. One of the things about HF21 is the supposed desire to get more people to manually curate/vote. Following a trail is not manually curating/voting. HF21 will not fix the manual part of curation or of voting especially for large accounts that hold a lot of SP, unless they suddenly decide to start giving out large enough votes to do it manually, then people will cry because they are no longer on the receiving end of the vote trails those large accounts use to use.

To conclude I do not like advertising or people patting themselves on the back, so that everyone that comes by can see how good a person they are because of what they did. I find it to be obnoxious.

Wow that was a remarkable photos!

Thank you, there was a lot of smoke, and it has given some nice sunset to us, just hard to get out and take pictures when it is real smokey

That is a stunning photo, @bashadow! I'm sorry for all the wildlife and everyone affected by the fires, but that smoke does make brilliant sunsets and photos! @shasta's smokey photos were great today, too! Thanks for posting these to @featheredfriday! Resteeming

At least most of the smoke is just nature, not a lot of man made structures out there, just nature, so no pressed wood chemicals, carpet chemicals, household cleaning supply chemicals, just, if you can call it this-Clean Smoke.

If there is anything good about it, it would be that! 😘

I think they are mostly waiting on Mother nature, other than trying to protect the small communities in the area. Cooper Landing, and Sterling. Fortunately there is not a lot of man made structures in the burning area, and they are so far doing pretty good at private property protection. The winds shifted a bit over night we can actually see some blue sky this morning, been a couple weeks since that has happened it seems.

I see glad thats the case not to much property is being damaged that must always be so devastating for the owners

glad you got to see some blue skies today hopefully lots more of those to come ;)

I hope it rains soon and puts out the fire. Amazing photo though of the geese flying.
