I Need Help - Why is Steemit Taking So Long to Approve New Users ?

in #steemit7 years ago

This community is a great one no doubt, but it's kind of frustrating to watch newly invited and potential users with so much energy and excitement finding it difficult to come on board due to long time approval process by the steemit blockchain.

steemit

Recently i have talked about 4 different people into joining steemit and starting up something here but after a successful application and phone verification process, they are all waiting for long and its taking time for them to get approved.

One of the guys i invited has signup and been waiting since July 12 till today no approval, another has applied twice with different information and still there's no hope of getting approved.

My Questions

Why is it taking so long time for new users to get approve?

What can the community do to increase the speed time of new users approval so that some of them don't get discourage easily?

When i sign up in late June this year, i was approved in about 6 days and i could patiently wait because even before signing up, steemit has been my passion so i wasn't discourage too quick but of course we have to remember not everyone joining can be like me and wait even longer than mine before getting distracted by other things.

I need this community to contribute to this and let's see maybe our Witnesses have solution to this. If not even instant approval, a little speed up will make a difference.

I found out a solution to this if you are willing to delagate or give the 6 steem they need for an account. I was also waiting over a month to start a second account for my son. After the month I decided to look a little further into it and discovered that you can use steemconnect.com to create new accounts almost immediately.
Here is a post by @timcliff with a great explanation of multiple ways.

Ohhh, i will check that out and wouldn't mind paying to get my guys on board

I had the same question. When I was waiting for my approval I just assumed there was a vetting process. But you bring up a good question.

Yeah, i want to be clear what's wrong so as to know what to say to people i am bringing on board.

i feel, you need to try sign up with another device (komputer or Android) because my friend have said that if you want sign up to join with steemit community if you have feel has do sign up, please you do at device and other number phone else .
Like that @bania. because if has sign up one time so the sistem not respon to sign up next.

Alright, i will try that out and see if it solve the issue

I signed up the week of July 20 and if I remember correctly it only took 2 days for me to get approved. That's very strange that someone has been waiting since July 12. That's over a month! I'd be furious. I think I got lucky though.

I have seen people posting charts and graphs about the expanding user base here and it's quite impressive the rate of growth that steemit is seeing. I've also seen Coinbase and Kraken mention a high influx of new users when citing longer than normal waiting periods for certain transactions or tier level verifications (Kraken). Kraken took several days to verify me at tier 2 and I've also had a couple of transfers (both Ethereum and both were outgoing from Coinbase) take 12+ hours. In both cases the high influx of transfer requests was cited as the cause and noted AFTER I submitted the transfer.

I think these are just run-of-the-mill growing pains that are common in any budding industry that's experiencing rapid growth. It's unfortunate but it's also a good sign that so many people are interested.

Sorry I don't have any solid insight on what could be done to remedy this problem but that's my 2 cents.

Hey @cryptokeepr

I like your view on this and yes i agree its a sign of growth and expansion but i think we need to find a way to speedup as we grow so as not to disappoint new members coming in

This question need answers asap! I have invited a couple of energetic people myself who are awaiting approval for too long. Nice post @bania

Thanks cynthia, its just annoying to wait for about a month and not get approved

so sad because I was one of the lucky ones who joind back in March when it was INSTANt and I remembr how fast it was and it was why i lovd steemit so much! It said "Welcome to the blockchain" and I thought wow this is the easiest way to get people into crypto!'

andthen i REMEMBER THE DAY when they told us we have to have a waiting list now because of the new influx of users!

I wish we could help with the vetting porocess!

why cant steemit hire people to help with this verification proces??

also why doesnt busy.org have its own registarion/

who controls steemit registration? Anyon with a steemit account can make the steem account I guess actually so I guess it would be the !!@steemit account which is our backup account for password hack recovr within 30 days etc

so yah i guess any account could help create anew account, steemit account seems to have plentyof steempower to delegate though, and yeah its just amazing how this all works decentralized the way it ios!

ANYWAY @bania I just upvoted your whole wall!

Hey @ackza

It feels good to register and get approved pretty quick and i wish steemit can keep to that speed so potential users don't get discourage quickly. Thanks for been kind as always and upvoting all my post.

I'm grateful man

Join the fork of steemit, calibrae and forget about steemit.

We can make a better steemit and calibrae is a possible solution.
