Three days left
In three days, we can talk about winter with every right. But look at these photos... does it feel like autumn? I have no desire to freeze someone, but when I took these pictures I really froze :)
This is the northern shore of the Gulf of Finland (Baltic Sea, Sestroretsk). The edge of the shore serves as a sandy beach in summer. Do you want to sunbathe here now? The part of the beach that is exposed during low tide is already covered with ice, but the bay itself is still free from this captivity. I think when the strong winds begin, these pictures will change a lot. It's too smooth here right now.
There is no big snow yet either. A light layer of small snowflakes, which the wind drives along the sand of the beach. It's quiet and peaceful here. It seems that everything is waiting for something ... apparently, the arrival of a real winter🖐 😊
Через три дня можно с полным правом говорить о зиме. Но посмотрите на эти фотографии... это похоже на осень? Я не имею желания кого-то заморозить, но когда я делал эти снимки я реально замёрз :)
Это северный берег Финского залива (Балтийское море, Сестрорецк). Кромка берега летом служит песчаным пляжем. Вы хотите позагорать здесь сейчас? Часть пляжа, которая оголяется во время отливов, уже покрыта льдом, но сам залив пока свободен от этого плена. Думаю, когда начнутся сильные ветры, эти картины очень изменятся. Сейчас здесь слишком гладко.
Большого снега пока тоже нет. Лёгкий слой мелких снежинок, который ветер гоняет по песку пляжа. Здесь тихо и спокойно. Кажется, что всё чего-то ждёт...видимо, прихода настоящей зимы 🖐 😊

Yeah, that is so cold looking I am shivering. It's cold here in Philadelphia but thankfully not nearly enough for snow/ice. I grew up around Buffalo, NY, USA which is right next to the great lakes. They just got something like 4 feet of snow a week ago. I don't miss that.
Now I live in the northern part of Russia and winter is not a problem for me. I am used to snow, ice, frosts and even sometimes miss them, especially when autumn drags on. I want to see a lot of fluffy fresh snow, light frost and sun :))
I'm good for some snow. So pretty. Then I want it gone a few days later. Around here, that is common. Where I grew up...closer to what you are used to, especially with all the lake-effect snow. Right now it's a nice rainy day. Those are my favorite.
There is also a frequent thaw in my city. It was even on New Year's Eve... without snow.
But I love snow))
If it last more than a few days, I will be sure to send mine your way!

Your shots make me freeze! Ice and snow are beautiful and pleasant only if you see them on the screen of your TV or through a window while you are nice warm next to the fireplace. 😄
I can't disagree with you, it's like this :-))
But I'm a pretty northern resident and frost is not a problem for me. The most interesting winter pictures I received at -35C... it was a real winter :)
