Ulog 021: CEO Meeting

Yesterday was intense. I joined the meeting with group CEO to explain and discuss the recent meeting with a key client. Although it was not the first meeting there, it was stressful as always. I have spent hours to prepare for it, and I nailed it.

Always go with a summary

As a tip I have shared previously with you guys, I had started with the summary first, then jump to later part to explain my ideas further. Our CEO caught attention right away after that, and he followed along pretty close with my presentation.

After that, he had several more discussion points with me and more "homework" coming.

Look at the long-term vision

In term of business, a thing that I have learned from my CEO is that we should always look to the future from the current state of any project. We have to think what we are aiming at, in term of both businesses and vision.

For the short term, we might have an excellent execution plan or results, but for a long time, we need to develop an alternative method to either disruptive change or to expand to another business. It has always been my concern about what should we think like a CEO.

I can hire now

As per the discussion, I will begin working on hiring an intern for my team, who will work with me on tasks and allocation for the team. It is a new challenge for me since I haven't recruited anyone directly for my team. I will use the weekend time to write the job description and prepare for the next week meeting.

Allocate more time for Steem

Ideas keep filling up my note. I will allocate more time this weekend to work on Steem. Now I have lots of things to write now :)
