Athervane Joins Steemit & Dtube
Howdy all,
This is Akamu, coming to you live from the Athervane!
So I'm here from youtube, and even though my subscriber count is on the low end, I have much content to offer. That being said, as a unknown, small creator on youtube nowadays, it's very difficult to get even a single view, without rolling into the current trends. But besides the SEO fact, youtube has dramatically changed it's policy, multiple times since I created my account.
Youtube has been making it more and more difficult for myself and others to be creative on their platform. Lifting their monetization eligibility, to a now very high and unreasonable standard was bad enough, but even with that change I was going to continue to create.
But now they want to take away our free speech. You cannot say certain words, talk about certain topics, have certain viewpoints, for fear that your channel will be demonetized or even taken down.
For me to be myself, and to be truly creative, I need a platform that isn't going to criminalize my creative works, and punish me for having an opinion. This is why I'm on Steemit & D.Tube. I don't want to be a politically correct slave that must cater to corporate commands.
On a more positive note, I am here to entertain and to tell my story.

For now, I'm trying to get used to posting on D.Tube. I posted PART 2 of the Athervane story:
D.Tube is currently having difficulty playing that file. I uploaded that video at 1080p 60fps quality. According to recent changes, the max quality will now be 720p. So I tried deleting the video to re-upload at 720p, but I guess that is not possible now.
Hopefully these technical difficulties get ironed out. I would really like to see this decentralized platform contend with the big guns of the internet.

Hi @athervane! I can tell you I am an italian former youtuber as well with an average of 30k/40k views per video...I left it for Dtube even though the italian community isn't that big yet. The reasons are that:
Steemit and Dtube are on a different level, you will enjoy these platforms :)
