Wonderful Bumblebee on a purple Aster flower blossom.

On this bumblebee you can see two orange Pollen Sacs /baskets.
They store the pollen they collect from many different flowers and will eventually fly back to their home and deposit the pollen there.

I watched this bumble for quite a few minutes. It looked like it was having a little difficulty lifting off. I'm pretty sure it must of been thinking about making pollen deposit real soon !

@annephilbrick in the third picture the bumblebee's wings look funky. I love the purple flower and the baskets I never knew they were called that, I thought they had hairs the pollen stuck to, interesting fact.

The pollen does stick to their hairs but the bees work the pollen into the sacs/baskets. If you Google Bumblebee pollen sacs there is some cool interesting reading on the process.

@annephilrick While reading about the bumblebees baskets I also read that when one dies or is about to die the healthy bees remove it from the nest so not to spread disease, I thought that was also an interesting fact.
Such beautiful shots of the flowers but then the Bumble Bee really set it off!
