Syrian Army shoots down three drones in north Hama

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:25 P.M.) - Three drones, of which two are armed with small bombs, were shot down by the Syrian Army in northern Hama countryside as the government forces square up to a full-scale offensive.

Tensions escalated in the area as the Syrian forces keep on pounding rebel positions with heavy artillery and rocket shelling ahead of the prospected ground invasion.

Rebel groups in Idlib and northern Hama have for long attacked the Russian base of Hmeimim with armed drones.

Eyewitnesses reported heavy blasts were heard in the area when the armed drones exploded in the air by Syrian Army fire.
