Another large Syrian Army convoy heads to Idlib frontline
BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:35 P.M.) - More Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops were seen heading towards the frontline with Idlib province in north-western Syria, as they passed through Maar Shahour village in Hama Governorate, on Monday.
Soldiers rode on top of lorries carrying tanks, artillery and armoured personnel carriers.
An army officer said his troops were ready for the "final battle" against militants in Idlib province.
He added that the SAA are now "waiting for the orders from the leadership" in Damascus before commencing any operation.
According to reports, the Syrian Army is sending forces to three frontline areas, which share borders with the last major militant stronghold of Idlib, namely the central province of Hama, the coastal province of Latakia and the southern part of Idlib itself.
