CARE OF SKIN - A proper guide !!!

Hello steemians !!!
I am back with very new and interesting topic. Today I will be giving you some tips to care your skin and maintain their glow.

Being cosmetically related part of our body, it is very most essential to take care of skin. Skin care involves more than just cleaning and using moisturizure. It involves having a healthy diet plan, getting sound sleep and exercise, and minimizing stress.


1.Cleaning/washing.

It is one of the most important factor. Cleaning should be done twice daily or even more. Warm water is recommended. Gently massage your face . you can use different herbal face wash but avoid chemicals. Overwashing and scrubbing can irritate skin. Now, gently apply clean towel.

2.Protection from sun

Well, exposure of skin to sun can damage your skin and cause sunburn. It is also found that exposure to sun radiation causes cancer.
Apply sunscreen with SPF of at least 15 that blocks both UVA and UVB rays.

WHAT IS SPF ???

It stands for sun protection factor. It mesasures how well a sunscreen will protect skin from UVB rays.
If your skin normally burn after 10 minutes in the sun, applying an SPF-15 would allow you to stay in the sun without burning for approx. 150 minutes (15 times longer). This is a rough estimate.It depends on skin type, amount of sunscreen used, intensity of sunlight and quality of sunscreen.
But keep in mind that really high SPF like SPF 75 do not offer more protection than SPF 30 ( many result has shown this).

3.Drink water.

Minimum of 4 liter of water should be taken daily. If water loss from body is more then addition amount of water should be taken. Water maintains ph and hydration. If you are dehydrated , wrinkles start to come.

4.Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.


They are great for your skin because they’re full of vitamins and antioxidants.
• Blueberries, and yellow bell peppers contain antioxidants,
• Avocados can help to hydrate your skin.
• Carrots help to brighten your complexion.
• Pumpkin and kiwi can help keep your skin soft and smooth.
• Greenleafy vegetables contain antioxidants that protect your skin from environmental factors.
• Tomatoes protect your skin against sun damage.

5.Avoid skin-damaging foods

Refined carbohydrates, trans and saturated fats can potentially damage for your skin. Avoid consuming too much sugar( it causes breakouts in acne-prone skin)

6.Sleep.

Adequate sleep is most essential. 7-8 hours of sleep is essential. sleep helps to rejuvinate skin. As our body gets tired so does our skin. Before going to bed clean your face and use moisturizer .

7.Minimize Stress

Stress is one of the most important damaging factor. It causes ageing of skin. During stress, cortisol is high which makes skin thin and oily.Practice stress management techniques like deep breathing, laughing exercises, yoga and meditation.

8.SPA

You must practice this once a month for better result. It simply rejuvinate skin .

Thank you! I have two beautiful girls with such lovely skin. I started running and spend my workouts out of doors. Shower too often. Moisturize too little. Sleep?! Ha. I want to teach my girls how to care for themselves and hey, it is never too late to start doing a better job. What about hair, feet, nails, the proper expiration of beauty products?! More please! It is important to be aware that sunlight is NEEDED for health too. We need the correct balance in life and it has been proven that when we do not come in total immersion of sunlight to a sufficient degree we increase our chance of serious illness and death.

you are absolutely correct @ura-soul .Exposure to sunlight is essential for vit. D synthesis. We mainly recommend this in the morning as the amount of harmful rays is less. But during day time or say during summer the amount of harmful rays are more that may lead to sunburn. The amount of exposure , duration of exposure and intensity of light plays great role.

Care of the skin is so important, both for health and beauty. There really is such a thing as 'beauty sleep'. Eating lots of antioxidant rich fruits and veggies is helpful, as you mention. For those of you who don't eat enough of them, try taking spirulina tablets or mixing the powder in a smoothie. It's a superfood filled with naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, EFAs, chlorophyll and more. I've been taking it for 20 years and I am routinely mistaken for someone many years younger than my actual age. I swear by the spirulina! I take 10-20 tablets per day

In summer, because the body needs vitamins and minerals, I drink many teas, smoothies and lemonades, and to protect the skin and hair, I use natural oils such as coconut oil, argan oil and carrot oil.

IN SUMMER, drinking adequate water is best.
