It was founded by @good-karma and came to the spotlight in August 2016. eSteem allows its users to earn rewards socializing through the Steem blockchain be it by voting, blogging, sharing or engagement of any type.

How to Get Started With Esteem

1. Visit eSteem official website and download the eSteem application version that suits your device.

2. Launch the app and login if you already have a Steem account or sign up for a Steem account with Steem Ninja

3. After successful login, you can then go ahead to create a blog post and interact with others.

How to Make a Post with eSteem

• For eSteem desktop suffer, the create post icon appears on the right hand corner of the top bar menu. Clicking on it will provide a text editor to write out the post.

• For eSteem mobile app, one has to click on the top left menu and on Submit a story to be able to see the text editor.

The text editor has a similar characteristics for both the desktop suffer and the mobile versions with the only difference being in terms of display.

• Title: Fill the title of your blog posts.

• Post Content: This where you describe your post and put in the necessary pictures if need be.

• Tags: fill in maximum 5 tags that are related to the description or title of your blog post.

• Rewards: Here, you can choose if you want your blog post to be rewarded at 100% Steem Power or at 50% SBD and 50% Steem Power.

• Post: Clicking on this will publish your blog post to the Steem blockchain.

Key Features of eSteem

1. Multi Accounts Login: eSteem permits users to keep track of their multiple accounts. eSteem seems to be unique when it comes to this feature.

2. Security Pin: eSteem has employed a security Pin feature to provide additional security. With this, anyone having access to your device cannot access eSteem despite the fact that you are logged in.

3. Instant Notifications: eSteem provides users with instant notifications upon vote, comment reply, follow, mention and resteem of their posts. Very few applications provide this services.

4. Bookmarks: eSteem permits users to save posts as bookmarks. This feature ensures that the bookmarked post is always available for access by the user at any time.

5. Schedules: eSteem allows its users to schedule the publication of their posts. A user simply has to fill in the date and time that he or she wants the post to be published on the blockchain and eSteem takes care of it even if this user is offline at the said time.

6. Night Mode: eSteem has a night feature and with it you can toggle the app display to daylight or night modes.

Challenges Using eSteem

The eSteem desktop application seems to be working perfectly but there seems to be a few problems with the mobile application, specfically the android version;

• Thumbnail Image Display Issues: Thumbnails of post made with other applications on the Steem blockchain do not always appear visible on eSteem.

• Post Reward Display: Post rewards in many occasions cannot be seen through eSteem mobile application as it always display a $0 value.

This post actually has image and is closed to $1 as post reward.

• Broadcasting errors: Sometimes there are errors when broadcasting or publishing a post or comment to the blockchain.

Conclusion

eSteem proves to be an amazing application on the Steem blockchain. Despite have a beautiful interface all together, it is also rewarding and it is a perfect application to use posting or blogging on Steem
