Sowing summer veggie seeds / 夏野菜の種まき
It's warm but rainy today. So I sowed seeds indoor. Broad beans in small pots and Tiny Tim (small dwarf type tomato), Ox heart tomato and eggplant in a seedling tray.
Seedling trays are useful as @papa-pepper explained in his post WHY USE SEEDLING TRAYS? few days ago. I started using them two years ago. Before that I hand folded small paper pots but they are away more practical. Initially I worried that they might break after a season as they looked fragile with thin plastic. But there is no problem so far.
今日は暖かいものの雨降りだったので家の中で種をまきました。そら豆をポットにまいて、ミニトマトと牛の心臓トマトとナスをセルトレイにまきました。子どもが朝早く起きたので朝から・・・。
セルトレイは2年ほど前に使い始めて40穴のものを3つ持っています。以前は紙の小さいポットを時間のある時に折っていたのですが、省スペースでまとめて扱えるところが便利です。折らなくていいし w 届いた当初はすぐ壊れてしまうか心配でしたが今年で3シーズン目です。
They sit on a warm window side. 窓辺の暖房も近い暖かいところにおきました。
It's still February but preparation for summer veggie plants starts :) I look forward to maintain them in our balcony and garden.
まだ2月ですが夏野菜の準備が始まっています。春に苗を外に出して、春夏に世話をして成長を見守るのが楽しみです。もちろん収穫も！

I'm thinking about using egg cartons again though I'll wait a month. Sowing the seeds in mid march and maybe putting them in a tray or so that I can put them outside when it gets warmer. No real planting before the "Kalte Sophie" has come + gone :)
You might be right. Somehow I couldn't wait as I saw some people probably in warmer area were sowing seeds. I kept some to make a later batch. I learn interesting German words from you. Schweine Bohne seeds are sleeping in pots now :D

私は、日当たりの良い窓辺に、種まきしたトレイをセットできるよう、出窓を片付けている、なんて状態で、準備の前の準備をしている状況です。
「牛の心臓トマト」ってすごい名前！と思い、先ほどネットで画像を検索してきました。ちょっとかぼちゃを連想させるような形ですね。
私も窓辺片付けました。子どものおもちゃやら掃除用具やらばらばら置いてあって ;) いい機会になりました。牛の心臓トマト、おいしいんですよ！売っているスタンドもあるのですが、キロ500円くらいでこちらのトマトの価格としてはちょっと高めなので、自分で育てていっぱい食べようという計画です :D
