Sewing and gardening - noodles recycled in garden　/ 庭で端切れの再利用

Sewing and gardening are my passion in addition to crypto and bread baking ;)

Recently I got to know that an old T shirt can be used to tie a plant to a pole. The source of the idea is my favorite YouTube gardening/homesteading channel Root and Refuge Farm. Be careful if you are a gardening and especially a tomato fan you may not be able to stop watching their videos (me!).

When I was cutting fabric for my daughter's shirt this week, I found ideal ones: slim small fabric leftovers that aren't useful and I used to throw away. I made them slimmer to be ideal for gardening.

This works well so far.

I'll see how strong they are. I'm happy if I don't have to by threads for gardening any more ;)

Not only to make sustainable clothes (chemical fibers produce micro plastic through washing) but also for garden it's good to pick fabric with natural material. Ja the one I use currently for testing has 5% elastic in addition to cotton ... I'll be careful.

洋裁をしていると、どうしても使いきれない細い小さな端切れが出ます。これまでは捨てていたのですが、子どものシャツの布を裁断しながら、最近お気に入りのYouTubeチャンネルRoot and Refuge Farmで「古いTシャツを切って植物を支柱にくくりつけるのに使えるよ」と言っていたのを思い出し、端切れで細長い紐をいくつか作ってみました。

今庭で2、3本テスト中です。強度が十分だったら麻ひもを買わなくてもよくなりうれしいです。

今テストで使っているのは9%伸縮素材が入っていて、庭にマイクロプラスチックを撒き散らさないように化学繊維なしの布がよいなと思いました（化学繊維は洗濯するとマイクロプラスチックを環境に放出してしまいこれ結構深刻らしい: 毎週クレジットカードを食べている衝撃）。せっかく作るのだし環境にできるだけ負荷のかからないものを作るという意味でも、できるだけ自然素材でできればビオのものを使うようにしていきたいです。

環境活動家とかビオオタクとか敬遠しないでくださいね w でも大事なことと思うので、科学的な研究に基づく事実は受け入れて、できるところは改善していきたい派です。
