How To Fry your own plantains... in Life.

Let's get to the reason I wrote this post. This is not a foodie post, it is for foodies and the rest of human race.

The Story

Over the years, I have touched several programming languages, using some more than the others.

I am a logic guy ,so I am into backend stuffs even though I rock at frontend too.

When you work alone a lot as a programmer, you force yourself to wear too many hats which is not fun.

it’s like driving TITANIC all by yourself while making sure it doesn’t hit the iceberg

You can imagine how hard that would be if you have watched the movie. Too many steering wheels to turn for one captain without enough beards to trim. More so, we all fall into the temptation of watching JACK and ROSE when the ship is about to hit it.

It is common for a Full Stack Programmer to think that his or her main server-side language is the only thing called a programming language , every other language is seen as a by-the-way language. You know why? They never planned to learn any of those front end languages or frameworks like HTML5, JAVASCRIPT, JQUERY , BOOSTRAP, MATERIAL, e.t.c . It was all as a result of necessity, even photoshop or fireworks annoys a back end programmer, not because it is hard. It’s all because it seems inconsequential to their goal in life : MAKING THINGS WORK.

So, how do we save ourselves the unnecessary annoyance of doing what we hate, as annoyance could be very costly, costlier for the annoyed than anyone else affected by the annoyance? My complex opinion, though.

One good way to save yourself from anything is to save yourself. Yeah. I am serious. Just save yourself. If the ship is burning, JUST JUMP INTO THE SEA AND DROWN . Sorry, I mean JUMP INTO THE SEA AND SAVE YOURSELF..forget the drowning part , you can figure that out when you hit the water..

If you hate something, then stay away from it totally. If only I didn’t dive into front end programming, I would be greater programmer, there is a twist to that, story for another post.
Seriously ,I am saying this with my head bowed to then ground to signify humility, I know server-side really well but I wish I never wasted my brain CPU power on front end.

Like I said, the first approach is to stay away from it but imagine you are like me, who sometimes like to do everything on his own, then we know the first approach does not work. It’s doesn’t work for me and you (if you are like me).
I am that guy that likes to cook what he eats. I fry my own plantains. If it is a front end job on my work, then I want to fry it myself.

How to fry your own plantain always?

From the above statement, you probably see that I am heading towards a universal approaching to frying my own ogede (Yoruba name for plantain) beyond the world of programming.

Enough suspense, here is what you do?

Nike it! Yeah, NAIK IT! I mean f**king NAIK IT. I seem to be shouting here.

In lame man terms, I mean JUST DO IT. There is a lot you can do in life if only we just did it without over-preparing. You might just be one of them ,those people that use preparation to procrastinate. I am really laughing at you right now. Sorry! I love the fact that I can see through your heart even though you are just a reader on my post. I am a medium. I am serious. Not the blogging site. I mean the “MERLIN-KIND-OF-MEDIUM”.

Uhm, I actually know this because I am like that sometimes and I assume a lot of people are like me, perfect way to be a medium.

Back to the matter….wizkid

After years of been so stupid to try this approach, it has been the best wisdom ever. One more thing though, it pays to learn the fundamentals of anything before jumping at it but learning fundamentals should be summarily before you start learning on the job. Don’t spend too much learning fundamentals.

So, the single perfect approach is to just do it even if you know nothing about it. Trust me. It works all the time.
