Following someone

in #questions9 years ago

Mostly we all say we have mentors. The whole idea behind having a mentor or someone you would always look up to has been strange to me. As strange as the geometrical figure that represents the limits to human thoughts and creativity: unimaginable .
But recently, age has begun to teach me something about life. What it has thought me i s not the fact that we actually do need a mentor or someone to always look up to. The lesson i learnt was that the most effective yet basic means of patterning our lives through refrence is by looking and learning from those who have trod the paths we seek to tread.

I would not say however that having a mentor is one of the fundamental steps to success. But i can say categorically that it is one of the steps that make success easy.

What then makes me share my thoughts on following someone as my very first update through steemit , it is the fact that i followed someone here.

Question 1: Can someone whose step you have followed at any point in time be regarded as your mentor.

Let me chip in here that in my postings here i would be asking questions and as well be making little attempts at giving my own version of the answer.

Now, back to the question.
I can almost say a definite NO, but i know that i would be giving a answer that might or might not be correct. In other words that question seems trivial and easy but is infact very debatable.

Without twisting words, the person whose steps i followed by taking a first step at sharing my thoughts over here is my sister. This is something she has started doing for a while and it makes her excited.

Lastly, i would like to place myself in the thoughts of any reader.
You might then be thinking that i have answered my question (above) by admitting thay i followed my sisters steps. You might think i believe that following someones few steps makes them your mentor.
Once again in all sincerity, i do not state a yes or a no. I believe that the answer to my question lies peculiarly in the heart of every individual.

Once again:
Question 1: Can someone whose step you have followed at any point in time be regarded as your mentor.

PS: If i nfact following my sister to steemit was a standard function that would determine the answer to my question above. Then the answer would be a big NO.
