Trump declares we've won in Syria and plan is to withdraw troops

I'm excited! I'm glad to see us getting out of that conflict. Ok, now there's only 6 more countries we're currently bombing to stop bombing, and then after that only like a hundred more countries to remove our military presence from. After that we can win people over with good trade and economic unity rather than tanks, guns, sanctions, and threats.
Anyone else think this announcement is to distract from the Fed announcement later today?
Also, these kinds of announcements tend to not really be followed through on.

Anything the US does is big breaking news here in India as well as kind of all other developing countries. I often wonder if Trump is the president of India!
I supported Ron Paul's idea of bringing our troops home and reopening many home bases that have closed over the last couple decades. What a boom that would be for those local economies! But sadly, I do agree with @nealmcspadden, most 'news' is usually to distract us from real news.
chalk up another great victory, mission accomplished... I'm sure things will just be hunky-dory there from now on ... world peace right around the corner bros !!
Sounds too good to be true. I hope it will happen but I remain sceptical.
Good stuff if this is happening, but hopefully it's not a pull out so they can carpet bomb. I have little faith in our elected puppets :)
