SENSE8 - REVIEW
Sense8
This is one of the best series I've watched so far, and I'm not exaggerating. This series had to be stopped by Netflix at season two because it didn't generate the number of views and downloads they expected. I had doubts when I started downloading it right from season one. I concluded it wouldn't be that great since the number of people subscribing to it wasn't much. After watching it, I wished it never ended. Nevertheless, they found a way to end it. It's one of the few seasonal movies that actually has an end and a focus. Enough of the hype; let's review the series.
Sense8 worked on the theory that eight people could be connected to each other. Eight strangers from all over the world. They were known as clusters. But there was this particular Sense8 they focused on; in fact we never knew there were other clusters until some of them were revealed. The people in the cluster were Will Gorski (a police office from Chicago), Lito Rodriguez (a gay actor from Mexico), Kala Dandekar (a pharmacist from Mumbai), Nomi Marks (a blogger and hacker from San Francisco), Capheus (a bus driver from Nairobi), Wolfgang (a thief and safecracker from Germany), Sun (a businesswoman from South Korea) and Riley (an Icelandic DJ living in London). So this people were basically from every part of the world and never knew each other. The only similarities they had was; they were born the same day. They can share their thoughts and appear in each other's presence. Capheus from Nairobi can visit Sun without having to travel to South Korea. He would be seeing everything Sun sees and he can decide to be Sun at that moment, anything he does, Sun does. Isn't that awesome?
Here they are
But there is something I don't agree with the movie. At a point, we were made to believe the connection started when they were old enough. They made it seem like they never experienced it when they were younger. Kala and Riley were confused when they started hearing voices in their head. It shouldn't have been revealed that way since they had the gift from birth. Will Gorski especially, had been seeing people that aren't really there since he was small, but when he got older, they made it seem like it was his first time experiencing it.
Aside that, its a great movie. I can't really get much spoilers from it. The series started getting interesting in the fifth episode of season one. That's probably the reason for its not enough viewers. The first two episodes was nothing to write home about. It was a little bit confusing and boring. Although it was well acted. But the first two seasons should tell if a person will continue watching the series. I personally wouldn't have continued watching it if I downloaded just two episodes. I had to finish the complete episode one I downloaded, and I never regretted doing it.
And the thing between Angelina Turin and Jonas Malik was quite confusing. They were both in the same clusters. In fact, Angelina birthed Will's cluster. Jonas could still see and feel Angelina after she died. I couldn't decipher if it was just a memory, a ghost or she was appearing as a cluster. Well, I concluded one of the cluster could still see and feel another member of his cluster if they were loved each other so much. When Kila almost died, we saw the expression on Wolfgang's face when he later saw her in the cluster world (I believe you know what this means). He figured out she didn't die.
Jonas and Will
You might be wondering what happened to the clusters throughout the whole season. An organization called BPO tried to ruin them. They tried to end their existence by experimenting on them and killing them. It was founded by a man who was almost killed by someone in a cluster. So, he was seeking revenge. He was some people in a cluster to get to them. It was more like; a specie used in killing his own kind. The clusters tried to survive by working together. This is an interesting series and I'm recommending it for you all.
