Hello Steemians! The ADSactly Poetry : Lucid Lyrics Designed to Expand Minds series is designed to be a sort of platform for sharing some of my greatest works with @adsactly readers.
Many of the verses I've shared and continue to share were written in collaboration with a friend of mine.
Others were written as solo projects and some made their way to the recording booth.
I've got another special piece for @adsactly readers today, this is a short verse which is designed for readers to 'sing-a-long'.
The background music I wrote it to has been embedded below. I dare you to give it a shot!

To get to the next level you’ll be a rebel, run with the wrong folks you swear you met the devil, but never did you predict that you would revel in the darkness with the other narcissists.
I rock beats like I pack heat and raw seeds to feed the vegan inside of me. Keep those receipts cause I’m thrifty, get the vat back, keep the stack fat, stay busy lizzy. Wanna know why day after day we have the same struggles seems the rhythm of the backtrack of humanity’s in a muddle and whats more a few missteps have put us in a bit of trouble.
And I want to know why the greed in a man can defeat the love inside and had that man been listening to his own lies even if he knows that it’s going to lead to his own demise. Is it cause we’re bored with an insatiable appetite? It can never be fed, isn’t that right but are we doomed to live in perpetual night, is this a dream then Scotty beam me up or splash water on my face and wake me up.
Where is the mind and the soul, cause when I look deep inside I can’t find em so I don’t know and whats more wheres this story gonna go? Lets take a ride hop in the honda civic its time to roll to a new location where happiness intertwines with good relations and we’ll just erase the pain of the past so it can no longer hold us back.
I see green trees with green leaves, I see people living in communities at peace, I see people living in a way that can be sustained not leaving the earth blood soaked and stained with their own disdain and carelessness thinking about future generations. What about them what will we leave for them to inherit?
When I look around this world we live in I can hardly bear it but if you’ve made this far you get 100 merits listening to the ramblings of a ranking officer of life that’s still caring about his effect in the world.

This piece was very fun to create. It just came so easily and really was a lot of fun to perform. Give it a try yourself and see if you can find a nice cadence for it.

I ask myself the same questions once and again. My answers are not very encouraging.
I guess you're being sarcastic when you say that
I think that, as you suggest, we are wired with certain unquenchable thirst or apetites that make it literally impossible to do what we have also been wired to conceive, which makes us the most paradoxical "creation".
Greed, envy, violence, lust, among other human features constantly compete and beat the virtues that are supposed to save us from perpetual darkness.
Whether the soul coexist side by side the mind or exist on a higher dimension, it is irrelevant. Only exceptional people, a sad minority, can give testimony of strong virtuosity through introspection and a life untarnished by human folly.
We keep conceiving perfect worlds, all our artists throughout history have drafted their version of the same utopia, and yet generation after generation we can't materialize one single element of those possible, yet impossible worlds.
We have Joe Biden now promising that if he is elected he'll make curing cancer a reality. Really? How about gun control? or a government without corporate lobbying forcing screw-the-people-decision-making?
I share your anguish. I can't stand this wolrd, but I can't stop thinking it can be different, better, perfect.
Thanks for your thoughts and feedback. I don't think that line above was meant to be sarcastic just sort of making a point that people as a whole have been quite passive to stand up and call BS on authority. Politics is a nasty business but my polysci teacher said if you want to understand it, just follow the money!
Great point. I think that summarizes and simplified the otherwise complex issue.
Money talks and wins over principles, values or ideologies.
We see it in the seemingly contradictory business ventures governments around the world engage in
I think this world is marked by differences, unfortunately. There are those who cry daily without knowing what to do, those who laugh because they have a path without stones and those who stumble erratically because they refuse to be defeated by life. Just because a garden is full of weeds and rotten trees does not mean that they should destroy the entire garden. An important part of society is corrupted, but I still have faith. We must continue to do the work, even if others do not do theirs or feel defeated and no longer have hope. As Martin Luther King said: If I knew that the world ends tomorrow, I would still plant a tree today. Greetings, @zentalk
