Age is just a number

This assertion is not far from the truth, though, not in every situation, I said not every situation, it is imperative for a child to respect his parents if he is to live long on earth as being backed by the scriptures. But, will a child be submissive to the parents if they neglect their responsibilities? The answer without doubt is No, it is not just by birth that a parent is called parents but, through upbringing of the ward knowing the right from the wrong. image
Many people in life value respect which is fine but, they forget that you really don't have to say it or mention it before people would consider whether to respect you or not, it is all choice. Your action and attitude towards life and people around around you is what will make you to be respected whether you ask for it or not. For instance, at our various place of work though we might be older than our boss but we still have to respect him or her because of the position since person hold but, was it really postion, NO, perhaps, what is embedded in the position, that is the task the person holding unto the position has to perfor. There is this popular saying in my locality which goes thus, age doesn't necessarily mean being the head but postion one hold unto which makes one a boss.

On steemit, many that joined as early as the inception of this blockchain. How many of them were remember today or given respect based on the fact that they joined early? Absolutely few, and the few whom we were ate those that contributed their quota to the growth and success of the notable community. Your days on steemit doesn't necessarily represent you being respected or given kudos but what you stand for, your position, your impact, your influence and support to the project and many other people on the great platform that will make people to recognize you. I will like to site @theycallmedan as an example, he didn't join steemit as early as the inception but of recent almost if not all felt his impact, contributions to the community. Someone like him doesn't need to proclaim himself before steemians will give me accolades he deserved. Another person I will like to cite as an example is @nathanmars though he joined as early as 2017 if I'm not mistaken but only few knew him then why because he hasn't stake high nor make contributions but after few months he came on bound with full support of steemit, now if not all steemians, majority know who is named @nathanmars image

I was looking at one of the 2016 accounts that Asher did a report on once, and in the first 5 months they earned the same vests that took me almost 2 years to earn. The difference is that they have sold and while they are still earning, they are unlikely to ever earn at that rate because, no one is ever going to earn at that rate again probably. To get those kinds of vests, they are going to need to be hitting 500 dollar posts a couple times a day without a bot in sight. Not going to happen.

What it does mean here is that those that joined steemit as early as possible made a lot as they earn more than those that came later but that doesn't mean they will continue to receive the support compared to when they first joined.

In fairness, if you want people to respect or acknowledge you, you must not just use your mouth only but your actions must speak it all.

Your contribution in life is what will make people to recognize and acknowledge you. Not necessarily the position you hold unto as against what I mentioned above in this post.
