My Verification Post

in Steemit Philippines3 years ago

Hello, fellow Steemian!

Finally, after three years, my first ever post is here!! Haha. I also don't understand why it took me this long to post here in Steemit.

Well anyway, as this is my verification post, I will be introducing myself and somewhat giving you a chronology of my life's events.. Wow, chronology talaga?!

I am Ada Jamaima, but just call me Lady Ada... ( Lady talaga! feeling may halong dugong bughaw lang!... well, pagbigyan nyo ha. Bwahaha!) I am the second beautiful daughter of @jurich60. My three other beautiful sisters @aideleijoie @jewel89 and @austhalia are also steemians. Like our mom, we are all beautiful ( according to our mom!) I am 43 years young now.

Mama pic 1A.jpg

Probably my extraordinarily groovy mom and my extraordinarily beautiful sisters already mentioned that we are really from the queen city of the south, Cebu City. Cebu City is really our hometown. But then, after my 1st-year high school, our family moved to Olongapo, Zambales. Which makes it our second hometown. We are so blessed because both our hometowns are very beautiful places. But I guess, everywhere in the Philippines is beautiful except the slum areas.

Mama pic2.jpg

We are eight siblings, 4 girls and 4 boys (hindi masyadong masipag ang nanay at tatay namen, bwahaha!). All of us grew up in Olongapo City.

I started working at an early age, my first job was a cashier in an Italian Restaurant in Subic, which I had very fond memories of because I had a very the kindest boss in the world and the best colleagues ever.

My next job was in a Casino in Subic, as Cage Cashier. It is from this time onwards, I started my career in the Casino Industry. From which I worked for 21 years. You probably might be wondering, what on earth is a Cage Cashier. Well, we are those few individuals who are able to handle lots and lots and lots of money of different currencies!. Sad to say, it only passes our hands. Our area is the most protected part of the casino, hence the term "Cage" because we were like inside a cage. We are the ones who are keeping and accounting for all financial instruments in the casinos like cash, cheques, chips, token, and others that have monetary values. Our Department Cage Department / Treasury Department) is also the one responsible for the payment of lucky prizes to the lucky casino winners.

From a Casino in Subic, then I also worked in Casino in Cruise ships, then also Casino in Manila, Casino in Singapore and lastly in Junket groups here in Cebu City. It was June of 2018 I last worked in casino.

Mama pic4.jpg

It was while working on the cruise ship, I meet my husband, Julius. I was in the Casino Department, while he was working at the Engine Department as Oiler. He is really a seaman as he is a graduate of Marine Engineering. And he is also from Cebu, specifically from Lapu Lapu City, Mactan Island Cebu, where our first Philippine here Lapu Lapu came from. My husband would always tell me that they are descendants of Lapu Lapu. Although I'm skeptical about it. But maybe I guess maybe it's also true since the original native tribes here in Lapu Lapu come from one family only.

Anyway, back to my story. We got married last 2005 and we had 2 extraordinarily beautiful two daughters, just like their mom and their groovy grandma and aunties, haha! Eldest is Avril, 18 years old and in her 11th grade now. My second daughter, Juliana is 16 years old, in her 10th grade. Supposedly I have three beautiful daughters, but my youngest lived only for a day, actually, she lived only for 7hours. While I was conceiving her, on the fourth month, during my prenatal, my Ob Gyne already detected some anomaly with my baby. She had a pentalogy of Cantrell. When I gave birth to her, she just did not survive and only lived for few hours.

mama pic6.jpg

I have been working continuously even before I was 18 years old. Then after June of 2018, it was my first time to literally just be staying in the house. Our source of income is from our Room Rental business. And since I did not work anymore, I am the one managing it. At first, it actually took a while for me to get used to domestic life. I mean, the household chores, it just never stops! But as time passes by, I really get to enjoy it. I am the boss of my own time now, no need to rush to go to work!

From 2018 until now that I am home-based, I get to engage myself in quite many things. I tried online jobs in Upwork. I also tried being an ESL teacher in Acadsoc as my elder sister introduced it to me because she was also an ESL teacher. Then I also have a small Sari-Sari store here in our place where our tenants can buy their necessities from my small Sari-Sari Store. Then last 2019, I went back to schooling. I enrolled myself again in college, taking up BS in Civil Engineering. Now I am currently in my third year and looking forward to being able to survive in this course. Because engineering is indeed, difficult.

Now, as I am writing this blog about my life events, I came to realize my life is not bad after all. I can say there have been so many things that happened. There had been many ups and downs, many challenges. Luckily, I was able to surpass them. Of course, I am very grateful to our Creator, our Lord Jesus, for everything. I am also grateful to my family especially to my mom @jurich and also to my wonderful, best sister @aideleijoie.

I guess I've already written a lot. I will be writing separate blogs for my different experiences like being an OFW and tips in saving, working in a casino for 21 years, being a mom, my experiences in working online jobs, experiences in having a sari-sari store, operating a room rental business, being a college student again at age 40 and about my new hobbies and interests like gardening and alternative Philippine herbal medicines. I hope you will stay tuned to my future blogs.

God speed and keep safe. Happy 11.11 to all!
