The yum yummsss from Bali!

Food post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😋

And how did this start out...? Well, I was bored and wondering what I would post today, when @blacklux suggested "Food post!" - why not, I thought... It's been awhile since I posted on food...

So now you know!

Okay, to get this straight before I even start, I can't tell you the names of the dishes... (as I didn't write them down - I was too hungry!)
But I can tell what was in them... that's more important, right?!!

So... let's dive into main dish no. 1
This is what I had...
It was an 'otak otak' fish mix - mashed fish with local spices, herbs, slightly spicy... more fragrant than spicy hot, wrapped in banana leaves and grilled over an open charcoal fire - that's the best way to get the best flavour!
Served with steamed white rice and stir fried long beans with egg and bean sprouts
Ohhhh, that fish was yummy!

Next main, was this fried noodles, Balinese-style, again with lots of their local herbs and spices, which adds a distinct local flavour to the dishes... topped with an egg
And served with a veggie pickle
(cucumber, carrot and onion - very refreshing)
and veggie crackers!

Sis had this steamed rice with a filet of fish topped with a 'sambal' of onions, chilies, mixture of spices - they do this very well in Bali...
Served with the same stir fried veg that went with mine

Not to be missed was the appetiser...
Freshly fried spring rolls!
Eat them while hot...

And... wash that all down with a fresh frothy fruit juice...
like watermelon!
Yummmm...!
