Steem Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek 17 Overview

in #steem6 years ago

Liverpool didn’t give their arch-rivals Manchester United a chance in the match of the weekend. Liverpool were by far the better team at Anfield, especially in the opening 30 minutes, and won 3-1. Taking a look at the attempts tells all about the game. Liverpool had 36 attempts to Uniteds’ six. Manchester United simply couldn’t handle Liverpool’s pressing style of football. Xherdan Shaqiri (£7.1m) scored two goals after coming on as a substitute. Shaqiri once again showed how much he likes playing at Anfield. He has now scored four of his five Premier League goals this season (and two of his four assists) at home.

Manchester City did what was expected from them by winning 3-1 at home against Everton. Jesus scored two goals while Leroy Sané once again got a start (his fifth consecutive Premier League start) while the more popular Man City asset Raheem Sterling was benched. In the last five gameweeks the German has scored 42 points. Sané has actually got attacking returns in all but one of his starts this season which demonstrates that he has been really consistent. Considering that he is exactly £2m cheaper than Sterling he could be the player to own from that City midfield over Christmas.

Arsenal were beaten for the first time in 22 matches when losing to 3-2 to Southampton. This was only the second game for Ralph Hasenhüttl as Southampton manager but it seems like he has already had a huge effect on them. This was the Saints first home win in the Premier League since April and also the first time they had scored three league goals in a match since beating West Brom in February. Crucial to their success on Sunday was the intense press they applied to Arsenal, a hallmark of Hasenhüttl’s playing style. Danny Ings was back from injury and had a huge part of the Saints’ win by scoring two goals. For Aubameyang owners Arsenal’s defeat at Southampton was disappointing. This was the third league match in a row without a goal for the Gabonese international and really not what FPL “owners” are expecting from their premium forward.

This time I was spot on with my steem pick when Eden Hazard showed he cannot be ignored by Fantasy managers by both scoring and assisting in Chelseaś 2-1 win over Brighton. His 13 points score means he has now registered five double-figure hauls this season. With a goal and five assists in his last four matches he is starting to prove his doubters wrong. No Premier League player has more assists from Gameweek 14 onwards than him. The Belgian now looks like a really good option over Christmas when Chelsea have got very favourable fixtures, with Leicester (home), Watford (away), Crystal Palace (away) and Southampton (home) their next four opponents.

Harry Kane, the man who 1.1+ million FPL managers handed their captain armband to, had his worst Premier League performance since the Gameweek 10 in his match against Burnley. Kane had just two shots, his lowest total for seven league matches and neither of his efforts at Wembley on Saturday was on target either, and only one was taken in the box. His owners should even consider themselves fortunate to have picked up a stoppage-time assist for Eriksens’ late 1-0 winner.

This was a normal week for me. Aubameyang blanked again and he was my captain. Hazard and Wolves were my best performers.

I managed to get to 54th, so I'm happy :D

Liverpool made 9 attempts in the first 20 minutes of the game. I think they are desperate to register a win against United as United have had better of Liverpool most of the times in the past. They wanted to prove a point and they did it in style.
The only thing they should improve is the accuracy of the attempts as out of 36 attempts, only a few were on target.

Arsenal have had a bad week as they tasted defeats at the hands of Southampton and Spurs. This id however a minor setback and I think they will bounce back soon.

Hazard is gem of a player and there is no doubt about it. He is one of my favourite players.

Harry Kane has been disappointing to some extent but we all know what he is capable of. He can turn the game on his head. It is only a matter of a goal or two before he gets back in his zone.

Thank you @acidyo for these information about the Premier League Gameweek 17.

Liverpool gave us a great match, as they managed to perform 36 attempts. Im a chelsea fan, and i hope that the new manager of Manchester United will get them back on track..

Game week 17 was a bad one for me. Hazard provided almost half of my total points 😉😄
