Steemit: The Curation League - 3 Prize winners!

This week is complete and as usual, I have 10 Steem in prizes to give away.

This post looks at how well the users on this list are curating, purely from a financial perspective.
Introduction
My general opinion on curation is:
Voting in the first minute will earn you a curation reward of almost 0.000
Voting between 1 and 29 minutes will earn an increasing % of the curation rewards split, this value peaking at 30 minutes and remaining the same from this point onwards
The goal is to get in prior to the big hitters, but not too early!
It is commonly suggested that 20-25 minutes is the 'best' time to vote (especially on known power-authors posts because they are likely to have more auto-votes coming in at these times - and you want to be ahead of these votes)
A vote of equal weight and equal Steem Power at 30 minutes will give more reward than a vote at, for example 1 hour - first come first served, but don't arrive to early :)
As you can see, a combination of many variables such as Steem Power, voting strength, voting weight, and time of vote, (and more) all play a part in the amount of reward received.
Is there a skill to it though? And how well are you doing?
The data
The raw data has been collected from SteemSQL - @arcange's MS SQL Server copy of the Steem Blockchain.
The key formula used for 'quality of financial curation skill' is:
Curation Rewards DIVIDED BY Steem Power MULTIPLIED BY 1000
This will return the amount of Curation rewards gained per 1000 Steem Power held
Before I present the table (which has entrants from the previous Blogs and those who wished to be added by making themselves known in last week's comments), this is the criteria needed to be fulfilled to have a chance of appearing on the list:
Must have voted at least once on a piece of content in the past 7 days
Must not have leased or delegated Steem Power in the last 15 days
Must not have Started a Power Down (Withdrawl of Steem Power) in the last 15 days
The 2nd and 3rd points above are required to reduce distortion of the figures. And, as curation rewards for the past week are actually taken from votes made up to 14 days ago, we need a 15 day window as mentioned in these points.

This weeks' findings:
Well well, my friend in bisteemit/blockchainbi, @miniature-tiger has found (later than I expected actually :p ) the holy grail in curation techniques and has scored an AMAZING 6.61 Steem Power per every 1000 Steem Power owned - That is just out of this world good, and the best score ever recorded in the league. Awesome stuff, 5 Steem for you this week!
@buggedout will be receiving 2.5 Steem for finishing 2nd, as he did last week (and the week before!), well done!
My 3rd prize of 2.5 Steem is going to @josephsavage who is fairly new to the league and finished 3rd. Well done!
@dontstopmenow finishes 4th again this week and is a very solid performer. ( @dontstopmenow has a trail you can follow at https://steemauto.com/ if you wish to get closer to his score)
Special mentions to @r-bot, and @ewuoso who has put in a much better performance this week. @edje has also improved week-on-week, nice!

The average curation reward/Steem Power this week is 1.456 SP, a huge improvement on last week (1.335 SP). Well done everyone!
A good target would be to aim for 2.0 (SP) per every 1000 vested SP owned.

I have to admit, I spent this week voting specifically to try and win your prize at the expense of all my normal voting habits. I'm very happy to see it's worked out!
It was quite an unsatisfying process though, voting for things with an additional constraint of what expected rewards I would receive. I took a pretty strict approach to it. I was glad to finish up yesterday.
Today I set myself a new challenge. I'll let you know how that goes next week. I doubt I'll be at the top of the chart though!

If only real life were based on some simple mathematical rules. I could probably win that too!
Although ideally rules that didn't involve being followed by a whale. That would be a little weird.
If a real life whale followed me everywhere, that would make navigation difficult, but also be really cool.
A little thought-bubble whale would be nice, if it just floated along singing and offering occasional pieces of sage advice. Although you might need to carry an umbrella to ward off the occasional spouting. Swings and roundabouts.

Thanks for this overview. I have a lot to learn, but I will only vote for what I find fun or nice or interesting.and sometimes it's days after a post has been placed because there is more to be done (yes, really). But you know, it's interesting to see where I stand and to try to become better. Not next week I'm afraid. All the kids come for Christmas and it's a busy week. But who knows, in January we are back in France (lol)

At 30 minutes, the voting scale which rises from 0% at 0 minutes is now at 100% (30 mins).
As the post ages, you are further and further way from this point and the other voters, meaning your curation rewards will be less. The math is too complex for me, this is high level. :)

Intriguing insights into the shadowy world of high-level curation rewards (lol). One of the great things about Steemit is how it lets u blend doing the right thing with doing the profitable thing.
