Those are the words of a user when acquiring an application.

In a century where failed applications are trending, this leads to the disappointment of avid users. I have had a taste of numerous messengers, and in my experience, I can detect the chaffs from the filtrates.

They are a lot of outstanding work involved in recent developments, and this has raised the benchmark of numerous applications.

When I first heard of the telegram messenger, I was a bit anxious because it raves were a trending topic back then so, I had to grab it.

Messaging is a common practice in this era, and it has offered an easy way to communicate, share and acquire knowledge. Before messengers were fully adopted, or better still when messengers were unpopular, Bluetooth and infrared were the preeminent means for sharing of files.

Messaging applications have improved in many ways with media file attachments added. Facial expression where a no go areas but now emoticons have made it possible to achieve this.

Telegram messenger has gained more waves in recent times, and with features built with absolute precision, it subscribers couldn’t have asked for more. They are a lot to talk about it because this is an application that as literally compete with popular messengers.

I intend to make the most out of this article because it is my first for telegram series.

Messaging has been effortless since I got this application, but before I did, I find it difficult to add people to my WhatsApp group because it had limited space. So it led me to the search. Ever since then, my groups are telegram based.

Telegram is like any other messaging application we’ve seen, but the difference between applications like I said in yesterday’s article are the features. These features are what attracts people to the platforms.

If you have an application that can’t accept your desired features, you will be frustrated.

Telegram messenger has friendly features that are easy to navigate without assistance.

Understanding it Ideas:

It was hard to get messages across certain territories because of distance, but now we have several mediums where information can be passed across.

The purpose of telegram application is to improve communication between people and to create an avenue where knowledge can be shared or acquire.

I have use telegram for months now, and I can conveniently say that it’s the best messenger application for me

Apart from the fact that a user can search for a username on telegram messenger application, it is necessary to know the location of your contacts tab. I often use contacts tab, because most times I might want to see which of my contacts have changed his or her profile pictures or to initiate a conversations

The feature I have not used yet is the tab for inviting friends to telegram messenger application, but I will when I have a new contact.

Call:

Communication is necessary in our daily lives, but most times we might be out of call cards or the person we are willing to call stays overseas which means the call rate will be high.

Telegram messenger has added a call option for users to communicate with their loved ones regardless of the call rate. Through this option, you’ll be able to view call history which contains your missed calls, received calls and dialed calls.

I became more involved with telegram audio call option because I felt this was a better way to stay connected with friends.

If telegram messenger application had a call feature, then I shouldn't be making calls through other means.

Chat

There is no difference between this feature and the ones present in other platforms because this is where personal chats, bot chats, and group chats are displayed.

When done with a particular conversation, and you wish to delete, pin, or mute this conversation, this can be done by swiping your mobile screen around that chat to the left. You'll see these options pin, mute, and delete.

If you swipe to the right, you will see an unread feature. This feature when used, it changes the chat back to the way it was when it was not read.

Unpin/Pin:

This feature is useful when I’m in a group chat because they are exceptional conversations I don't wish to miss out on so I pin those chats to the top of the chats.

All pinned discussions will automatically move to the top of all conversations on telegram messenger.

Regardless of other chats, this pinned chats will be on top even without receiving any message. You'll stay on top of all pinned conversations. However, you can unpin any conversation.

When I first saw this option, I was eager to pin more, but I discovered that they are limits to the number. Telegram messenger application accepts five conversations.

Though this is a good development, I believe there is room for improvement so that users can pin more conversations.

Mute

So far, this is a feature I use for most groups which am a part of, this option enables me to mute conversations so that I won't get unnecessary notifications.

Mute feature is built to allow users in disabling unnecessary notification which might be a distraction while reading or trying to concentrate on a project.

Delete

As the name implies, delete is for deleting a conversation which you no longer want to be a part of

I was a part of several groups back when I was involved in a bounty project. So many of them were a scam project so when I found out I had to delete them.

If you swipe to the right, you will see an unread feature. This feature when used, it changes the chat back to the way it was when it was not read.

For those willing to perform a multiple delete or to perform a read option, this is the option for it. Edit is here to enable user performance multiple delete and batch read on conversations. Am involved in groups that their conversations are meaningless to me so instead of opening their messages, I do away with them with this option.

Search:

Search tab is for searching of message or user. During emergencies, I might be in need of a particular message or a user. Through the search tab, I'll be doing this at ease.

Search tab is where I navigate my way around different users without going through the whole chat. Whenever I'm in need of a particular conversation from a user, I use the search feature to search through. However, Telegram messenger application is unique because regardless of if the person you're searching for is in your contact, telegram messenger application will display suggestions as you type through.

Just like in any other application, settings feature is where users can perform necessary updates on their applications.

When I downloaded telegram messenger application, I had to visit the settings tab in so that I can update my profile. From the features meant for uploading of pictures, I used it to access my internal memory where I got my favorite picture to display.

From the settings feature there is a profile option, this is where a user can update his details. These details include names, profile pictures, mobile number, and username. Without these details, it will be impossible to know who we are messaging.

In summary, I have reviewed both the features that have used and those I have not. I believe I was able to share what I think of telegram messenger application. The second part of this series will commence soon.

Telegram messenger application is unique, and it is the best messenger I have used so far.

I urge the developers to integrate more features on telegram messenger application so that it can move from its present ranking position to a better ranking.
