Gratitude Challenge SEVEN: My Partner in Life
I am grateful to have someone who shares my dreams and passions in life
Homesteading is not an easy thing to just start doing, for the mind or the body. Moving from a city lifestyle to a homestead is not for the faint of heart. We've had to commit all of our time, money, and energy turning this dream into a reality.
It has been years of long commutes, longer workdays, and after-work homestead projects. Date nights are usually spent trimming goat hoofs, shoveling compost, shredding paper for worm bins, or building fences.
I'm so lucky to have someone that through it all can see the bigger purpose. Someone who knows that the sacrifice today is worth the future possibilities. Nine years, one beautiful baby, and 5 years into this dream- there is NOBODY I would rather have by my side. His strength keeps this dream going.

Wierd. You nominated me and Ihad just written about my amazing life partner. Love your comment about date night. Riiiight. Date with duties. Homesteading is not for the fainthearted and yet we would not choose a different life (or .... shudder .... return to the city)
Never going back to that artificial life! I'm so glad us ladies choose to live this way.

Fantastic! YES! We have working date nights too. We work all day and night just to get where we want to go. We are exhausted, but we know the upfront sacrifices will be worth the lifestyle in the end. I also couldn't imagine anyone else by my side than my husband. Gotta love love! <3 Aimee
