Gratitude Challenge FOUR: Nature's Bounty

Look to nature for the answers

g4.jpg

One thing that has always boggled my mind is how the universe is designed so perfectly. All of the planets in our solar system yet ours is the only one with the perfect combination for life. Everything we need to sustain all on one planet- food, water, medicine. It is the most amazing thing if you stop and really think about it.

As time has passed we have had many modern advances yet nature still continues to amaze. There are far more unknowns than known and it seems today's society would rather rely on man instead of mother nature. There are so many ways we could improve our society and looking to nature for the answers is definitely the place to start.

I am grateful that nature has the capacity to provide

I try to live my life as naturally as possible. I reflect on the necessities of life and try to appreciate all that I have. When faced with an option, be it as simple as sunscreen option, I always choose based on the most natural method and ingredients.

Most of the people I know eat chicken but cannot fathom the thought of raising and butchering their own. After seeing the commercial food industry it is apparent that permaculture and humanly treated animals make the most since for my life.

These blackberry bushes came up all over my property all own their own!

Another great one. Yes, we have blackberries we didn't plant and is just producing berries out front! And we raise chickens for the eggs. We did raise some broilers for meat and I butchered them. Everytime I see our chickens I shake my head on how the other chickens in "commercial" setting are faring. It's a sad thought. But our chickens are happy and that's a happy thought we're thankful for. We're hoping to get going on our homesteading goals as soon as we get the fence up. It's very promising!

It's so fortunate when you can recognize wild edibles to cultivate and harvest. The thought of commercial raised livestock makes me so sad. I understand it's the demand that causes this nasty reality - I wish more people would choose the lifestyle you and I have.

Yes! Nature does provide and that is often taken for granted.

How blessed are we! -Aimee
