What does the second amendment mean?
Noah Webster: A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive. George Mason: Mr. Chairman, a worthy member has asked who are the militia, if they be not the people of this country, and if we are not to be protected from the fate of the Germans, Prussians, &c., by our representation? I ask, who are the militia? They consist now of the whole people, except a few public officers.

I think regardless of whats written people have a right to defend themselves. What's funny or sad really is that people that are for gun control or gun bans aren't really for that at all...They are happy for the police, military and security forces to be heavily armed even though they are human and have as much chance of being mentally flawed, brainwashed or unstable as the rest of us. Especially when research suggests that family violence is two to four times higher in the law-enforcement community than in the general population.
That being said guns just aren't going to disappear around the world because government's ban them..They are a fairly simplistic tool that can be made in the back yard with the right equipment and materials..Bottom line is bad guys will always find a way to be armed. If there is a demand there will be a supply. Clearly the agenda to disarm Americans is based on government self preservation not ordinary people preservation.
