Day 2 - Vienna, Austria.
Today we started sightseeing from the town hall. This enormously huge building makes impression.
When we left the town hall, we saw beautiful Neo-Gothic Church. The church was built as a token of gratitude for a failed attempt to assassinate Franz Joseph.
The next step was Natural History Museum Vienna. We have spent there more than 2 hours, but if somebody really love this topic then the whole day might not be enough ;)
After learning about animals, fossils, minerals, homo sapiens etc. we went to Austrian National Library. If few hundred years ago one book written by hand costed as much as a village or two villages, then I do not know how many villages we saw in this Library today :)
There was even a secret door ;)
The last point of our journey for today was Palace Schönbrunn which was the summer residence of the emperors of Austria. We bought more expensive tickets (Grand Tour instead of Imperial Tour) and we are happy that we did it.
If you are in hurry then Imperial Tour will be probably better for you because it takes only 35 minutes and you will see 22 rooms. If you however choose Grand Tour, then you will see much more - 40 rooms within 60 minutes.
After that we returned to our hotel for quick regeneration and we went one more time to the city center to try "Wiener Schnitzel". We recommend everybody to try it in Vienna ! It is something that you have to do when you are here ;)
