The moon

Is the Earth's natural satellite and the fifth largest moon in the solar system. It has a diameter of 3,476 km and is approximately 384,400 km away from Earth.

The moon's surface is covered in craters, mountains, and vast plains, and is made up of rock and dust. It has no atmosphere or water and experiences extreme temperature changes.

The moon has a significant effect on Earth, including the ocean tides and the length of a day. It was formed about 4.5 billion years ago, most likely from debris left over after a Mars-sized object collided with Earth.
