I remember when Zuckerberg offered to buy snapchat and they denied. He just send them a big Fuck You and build his own version what we know today as the story features on instagram and facebook.

For Zuckerberg 2018 will look like this (translating his post into worst case scenario)

Zuckerberg knows that his users know about big brother watching us. He knows people dont believe one word he is always trying to blind people with and that they are fed up spending their precious time on a oneway road on which he gets all, so he anounces his infiltration plans and builds his own blockchain tech ( I bet they are on it already) that is still centralized but can be sold as decentralized and hopefully on the way he can keep his reigning power because it will be sold to the masses on mainstream media directly and very soon it's not us younger generations telling our Mamas to buy some coins. Your Mama and your Mama and my Mama will come to us and tell us about Zuckerg's new wonderful coins that all her friends already bought. Many would become rich very fast, Zuckerberg keeps control and other coins will die off like a heart that just stopped.

While he is at it, even before his coin is created, he will try to shutdown his competition early just to make sure the race will be won.

I ignore the fact that it would suck for Zuck if he looses the race against crypto it would mean less user exposure and less tracking by him and governmemts, because somehow they will find I way.

I really hope Zuckerberg isn't having an ICO anytime soon and steemit and all other coins get rid of their #BitcoinDependency fast this year and start growing on their own not following others on every dip.
