Zimbabwe Army supposedly has taken over Government. The people are buying Bitcoin at DOUBLE the price, they need to know about Bitcoin Cash.
Zimbabwe has had issues in the past with huge periods of inflation. They actually have a 100 Trillion Dollar Bill that at times is worth about 40 cents USD. The inflation and instability in this country is very troublesome to the population as they lose their entire life savings in the blink of an eye. We all know Bitcoin currently has 100K~ unconfirmed transactions and costs anywhere from 10 to 20USD fee to spend. In a country that already lost mostly everything, they need to know there is a better and cheaper option to save their money. Bitcoin Cash transactions can go through without any fee at all as most miners will allow it(and blocksize isn't full).
We should reach out to them and let them know they can find a safe haven in Bitcoin Cash and have a cheaper fee when they need to spend it. I really doubt they can afford 20USD fee to buy things with. Bitcoin originally worked relatively well for these situations, but it no longer can help almost anyone in a 3rd world country except for the few who can afford to buy into BTC. The average wage in Zimbabwe is 253 USD a month, just doing 10 transactions in BTC you lose all of your entire wages. They legitimately cannot buy things with BTC as an average person.
I have posted this information to the Zimbabwe subreddit so that they can hopefully use this information to keep their money safe. I cannot imagine going through an inflation of 100,000,000,000,000X Think about if that happened to you tomorrow. All of your life savings would be worth nothing. With cryptocurrencies coming out and having low transaction fees, we are able to save our money during crashes and hyper inflations.
