Is it indeed a new era for Zimbabwe?
It seems like Zimbabwe is heading for a different era under the new President Cde Mnangagwa. As far as I know, Opposition leaders in Zimbabwe were always under vigorous insults for then Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe. Morgan Tsvangirai, one of the most popular Oppositional leader of the party Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) was one of those downsized people I know. He was called a British puppet, a teaboy etc you could name it.
And recently Mnangagwa visited the Oppositional leader, who is sick after he was diagnosed with cancer of the colon last year and has been frequently seeking medical helping South Africa. This was a kind gesture to see passion for one another despite difference in political views or ideologies.
If this is the new Zimbabwe, were political differences are put aside as people unite.
Mnangagwa said this during an interview, "we are a democratic country, people can lobby for anything" if this new mindset then Zimbabwe is headed for the better.
but there is always two sides to these issues. Of course it was a kind gesture that the President did but I have a question to ask...Is this not another strategic movement to show the world that the leader you want to led the country is no longer capable of leading because he is ill.
It can be a kind move but then what if the move was planned to show that Morgan can not lead you and the Opposition party is having difficulties in dealing with succession matters and yet the leader who is almost bedridden does not want to leave power and yet he is sick?
This is just a thought to wonder... its just an opinion... what is yours?
