do I need the electrum wallet or can inhold on an exchange?
I think you can hold it on bittrex. And I think they will announce soon. you can also make a paperwallet without electrum to store the goods until the fork. but you need a real wallet like electrum to claim the btcp and send your zcl to an exchange to cash out!! I personally just created keys and adress here: https://zclassicpaperwallet.com to send to last minute if nessesary, in case bittrex does not support.
