RE: Zappl Is Over 71% Funded!

in #zappl7 years ago

I bought a few and am thinking about picking up a bit more!
I must admit, I don't really understand the economics of the User Issued Asset though. I understand you'll have a buyback in place, but is this just to treat the crowdfunding as basically a loan and return it at the same value, or is there some kind of mechanism to increase the buyback offer price over time?
Sorry for asking, just curious. If it's not a profit sharing or dividend based token I just don't see any price appreciation. Hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction as I'm still learning about Bitshares.
Happy to support the fund either way though!

some kind of mechanism to increase the buyback offer price over time

@bryan-imhoff, Thank you for your question. The User Issued Asset will be bought at about $1 plus a share of profits as profits of ZAPPL will be used to buy back ZAPPL as well. ZAPPL as a business will gain value as well as from the posts on STEEM which will also increase the value of ZAPPL as a whole. Which will in turn increase the value of ZAPPL for token holders. Hope that help answers your question which you seem to have a better understanding on another thread you read as well.

Just saw your answers to robrigo in this thread so that pretty much answers my question. It all depends on what price the community sets for you to buy it back at eh? So philanthropists will sell back to you low, and greedy bastards will band together to drive the price up and wait for payment... I'm not sure which I'll be! :)

Yes there will be some mixture of people buying and selling higher and lower looking for to hold for different time frames and make different amounts of money. Maybe I can be some mixture of a philanthropist and a greedy bastard!

Why would the price go higher than 2? Will dividends be paid out to the token holders? I don't think that is a part of the proposal, or is it? Also still trying to figure out how it works.

The price may or may not go higher than 2. The token will grow in value. How this may be addressed will be with buying back at higher prices and/or sharing some form of dividend. ZAPPL will increase in value with STEEM earned by zappl. Part of this will be in turn shared with token holders. As the dividend function is not ready and available on bitshares just yet the token may be bought back with a value more than initial price with a little more as a share of zappl value.

Thanks!

That is a clear answer.

I'm happy to hear that earning dividends with the ZAPPL token might one day be possible.

Let's get this ZAPPL app built before talking profits, I guess... :)

Really looking forward for the release.

You are most welcome! Yes we must get it built first before donating back.

Looking forward to the releases!

This is more so true during the free market trading of ZAPPL on the open market between traders. Over time ZAPPL will be bought and sold at various prices. The buy backs will occur buying up the lowest price ZAPPL on the market increasing the value of the remaining ZAPPL. Thank you very much for your investment and interest in ZAPPL!
