A man found a stone that read, “Endless fortune, at the expense of all others.” He, mortified, sought to break it, but could not, because of the second sentence on the stone:

“Everyone must choose.”

And thus, every civilization falls.

    That's what I was getting at... free will is part of being human, and so often, we choose the path of destruction...
