Zagreb is a small Vienna!
Hello steemer friends, it's my day two and the impressions have settled. Thank you all for voting and such a friendly welcome, it really means a lot.
The same warm welcome you can experience if you find yourself in Zagreb during the winter time. Zagreb is always open for people but during Advent it has all it's magic.
As you walk through the city you see people smiling, drinking boiled wine and hear Christmas songs all around.
Children have their favourite place, Ice park, where they can skate.
You can even find Christmas spirit in the Zoo :))
and experienced Advent in tunnel Grič
For third year in a row people from 131 countries gave their voice for the best Advent, Zagreb Advent.
The selection for the most beautiful Advent in Europe was held on the European Best Destinations website, and behind Zagreb there were French Colmar, then Vienna, Budapest and Strasbourg.
I visit Vienna this year and it is also beautiful. They have 'Christkindlmarkt' near City hall, Christmas market on Karlsplatz, Stephansplatzand and in front of Schönbrunn castle .
Their tradition goes long back to 13th century and you can really feel it every step of the way. This town has dignity and something royal in it.
You can always hear that Zagreb is a small Vienna, and it really is true.
I love Zagreb because it's mine and I can't say that it is different from other towns 'cause you can find beauty in every corner of the world but the Christmas spirit, and the meaning of what Christmas is all about - love, friendship and joy - that's what my Zagreb always has to offer!
Visited Zagreb in 2007 during a tour of Mitteleuropa and even if it was in summer and was not treated with all those lights and decorations, the town didn't disappoint me, a really friendly town :)
I'm really glad you think so, and I'm not just saying like that :) The city is beautiful in summertime also, and a lot of people visit when they come to the coast. Hope you'll be the one to visit again, coffee is on me :))
haha great! The truth is that my visit didn't start that well, because the Couchsurfer which was supposed to host me eventually cancelled and all hostals were full, so eventually one hostal owner "rented" me a bed in the stairwell for the night ^^ It was not very comfortable but eventually everything went well!
Omg, thats the adventure of traveling :) It's good everything turn out well...
