Wash and clean the millet. Soak it in water for 6 to 7 hours.
Wash the lentil or gram dal and soak for half an hour. Similarly, soak rice in water for half an hour.
After this, remove the water of millet, rice and moong dal. Put them in the cooker.
Now put 4 cups of water and salt in the cooker and put it on the lid. Then put the cooker on the gas and boil the millet, rice and moong dal on medium flame.

  • After turning 4 whistles in the cooker, turn off the gas.
    Now heat the ghee in a non stick pan on the gas. Put chilli powder in it.

    Then add green chilli, asafoetida and turmeric and cook it on medium flame for one minute.
    Then open the lid of the cooker and put the rice and millet khichi in the pan. Mash it by running it well.
    Cook it on medium flame for 5 minutes. If you feel less water in khichdi then add hot water and cook it as needed. Now turn off the gas.
  • Take the prepared millet khichdi Serve it hotly
