Earning money from YouTube

in #youtube6 years ago

All of freelancer knows that YouTube offers it's content creator a decent amount of money. But it's not easy to earn money from YouTube. I have been working with YouTube over the last six years and earn some bucks. Today I will talk about two easiest way of earning from YouTube.

  • Moonetization: From the last year YouTube implemented a rule that to apply for monetization a channel must have 1000 subscriber and 4000 watch hours. This is not the end of their rules. All of video in that channel should be 100% original, not copy-pasted from other channel and video content should not violate any community guideline. If all of this ok, then you can apply for monetization. If they approve your channel, you will earn a decent amount of money from the channel. But problem is that, their application reviewing process is very slow in current days. You may have to wait more than 6 months to get approval form YouTube.

  • Affiliate Marketing: Another fantastic method of earning from YouTube is affiliate marketing. Make a product review video and put your affiliate link in the description box. If someone use your link to buy product, you will get 5% -15% commission .

Due to recent update on monetization, I will suggest anyone to make product review video. From this type of video, it is possible to earn from monetization as well as from affiliate link.

I have successfully been monetized by Youtube twice and demonetized twice due to youtube policy changes. Thankfully I do not rely on Youtube for my income. The problem is this last policy change really put a hurt on smaller channels and in my opinion could cause the platform to stagnate. A large percentage of Youtubers give up long before they reach 1,000 subs, and who knows how many of the ones that does reach 1,000 subs will see 4,000 watched hours. Even if you do satisfy these requirements, Youtube could double those requirement numbers the following year. Its takes time and money to produce videos on a regular schedule which is key for accomplishing anything on youtube. This could also promote garbage or theft of intellectual property rights. Anyhow, affiliate programs maybe the way to go.
