Video & channel recommendation
A while ago I discovered a really interested YouTube channel through Casey Neistat. The person who owns the channel is named Simone Giertz and she generally creates all kind of weird and silly robots that are, for the most part, useless but very interesting.
Not long ago she gave a TED talk which is pretty interesting, and after that she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She had surgery and she's fine now, but what's most important, she's gonna start to build robots again after a long break.
If you're interested in silly robots and you just want to check out what she's doing, you can find her YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3KEoMzNz8eYnwBC34RaKCQ
