I think truly Bitcoin could double within the next year or even triple, but the hundreds of thousands of dollars range within the next decade? I mean.. never should one say never, but come on..
Considering it came from 1/400 of 1 USD in may 2010, even the sky ain't the limit. So in about 8 years it's value has multiplied by a factor of 960 000 times the initial value, when the first known non virtual goods were purchased with the crypto coin, 2 pizzas in exchange for 10 000 BTC, worth 24 million USD today.
But with such low values in the early days it is to be expected that the biggest jumps are made in the beginning. On the other hand, with governments gradually phasing out cash, or worse, like they did in India, it could go anywhere. Also it bothers me that the central banks can make money out of thin air so they can manipulate any
tradeable commodity if they wish. They might even secretly prop it up as a means to facilitate their planned transition to a cashless society. They'll develop their own variant taking into consideration all the valuable insights they gained during BTC's (Beta Terrestrial Coin?) existence.
