Interview of an "Anti-Fascist" and the Religion of "Jualism"

[YouTuber Spotlight] @mouthybuddha: Spiritual Critical Thinker

One of my favorite up-and-coming YouTubers (who I think would make a great addition to steemit) goes by the handle @mouthybuddha (@JohnCanales3 and @mouthybuddha on twitter). In a world that seems to be getting more politically polarized by the day, people like Canales and @GrayWinsler are much needed reminders that this polarization is a consequence of the institutions, systems, and people who are currently controlling the narrative and whose power is being destroyed by the internet through services like YouTube and steemit. They are level-headed, self-aware, intelligent, unbiased, and capable of generating content that looks and sounds great. They prove that if existing media outlets don't fundamentally change the way they operate their inevitable decline will only accelerate.

While all of Canales videos are great, here are two of my favorites:

"I interview an ANTIFA who used to be a WHITE SEPARATIST"

In his last video he interviews a member of a group called "antifa," which stands for "anti-fascist." They are most well known as of this moment for being the people who started a violent riot at the University of Berkeley because Milo Yiannopoulos was going to speak there.

Jualism: A Rational Religion For The Future

The video I'm most excited about, however, is his video about a mysterious spirituality called "jualism" that seems eerily reminiscent of the ethos of steemit. Below are three excerpts that I think will be of most interest to Steemians.

  1. "Juals do not pretend to have the truth, but within our growing community of rationalists exists a depth of reason and hope which has opened the door to a new world of interconnectivity, bliss and power"

  2. "We are men and women of all ages and ethnicity we strive to treat every sentient being with kindness and respect. We value love, honest, open-mindedness, respect charity, forgiveness, gratitude, meditation and we make an effort to live by these values every day. But the strongest root that holds our community together is the root of insight. "

  3. "We have found a way to collectively birth insights. This is why we are able to unanimously decide on key concepts and this is why no one ever feels as if their voice is not being heard. Because their mind played a vital role in creating the views that we all agree upon."

It certainly sounds like they have developed some mechanism for arriving at consensus, but I have no doubt that whatever it is could be improved by leveraging STEEM's unique properties.

Good find; I hope John does join Steemit! I tweeted this article to him. His twitter is https://twitter.com/JohnCanales3 and hopefully others tweet this and mention him in the tweet.

Thanks @kenny-crane! I hope so too. I think he'd add a ton of value to both the community and the discourse
